I look forward to my next stay in Savannah.....
By Elisabeth, 03/31/09
My experience at this beautiful historical hotel in Savannah, Georgia was exquisite! Every staff member was courteous, hospitable, sensitive to my needs, and attentive. The evening I dined at the restaurant service was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was warm and charming. I slept comfortably each night in my room which was very much like my own at home. The bathroom, including the large tub, was wonderful! The best feature was the security of the area. My car was parked for me, brought to me as I needed to travel in the city, and I also had the "Town Car" available to bail me out when I wasn't able to travel on my own. The concierge helped me to find unique places for entertainment. I traveled with a service animal that was treated very nicely and in a loving manner by the entire staff. My guest was treated well. The art show was entertaining and weeks later the manager was kind enough to retrieve information for me about one of my favorite paintings. I had a wonderful vacation and a wonderful time. This was my first time traveling without a regular companion and I was very nervous. The staff members, as well as all of Savannah, made me feel very welcome and very special. I look forward to my return visit. This hotel is beautiful and reflective of the hospitality and charm you will always find in the city of Savannah. Sincerely, Elisabeth, America's Sweetie!

management made sure we felt out of place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/09
Loved hotel and its beauty. A little above my usual day to day but aint vacation supposed to be. Just kidding on the aint dialouge but it is how management made us feel. Staff was awesome probably liked my wife and I because we were regular people as i assume most if not all were not withstanding snobby person who was at the desk in front of check in area. She only spoke to us on a day when we were dressed nice and not in our usual poorer looking clothes, we stayed 5 days. Probably one of the reasons they can't keep help. Overall we didn't let this bother us cuz we better n her anyways.

What a disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/08
The setting and the location on the park are nice. The service and indifference of the staff are a disaster. We would never, never, ever stay here again. Rooms not cleaned, impossible to get the concierge, then indifference when we did; room service for food was incompetent; front desk didn't have a clue. And best of all, complete indifference on the part of the manager to address or correct the concerns. At several hundred dollars a night for a suite, one has the right to expect more. Stay away!

Best Hotel Ever!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/18/08
We had our wedding there in November and it was amazing. The marble garden courtyard was exceptional and the sales managers were unsurpassed!! Our guests had a fabulous time and thought the decor was amazing!! It is a true hidden treasure that my husband, family and friends will cherish forever. We can't wait to return to the Mansion!!

Strike 3
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/08
The arrogance and ineptitude of the staff is a joke! We enjoyed ourselves more a year ago. We gave given The Mansion 3 tries...this was the worst. Staff turnover is terrible. Are you able to retain anybody for more than 12 months in a row?

Great luxury mansion hotel in Savannah
By GreenDiva08, 10/13/07
The mansion was a great place to stay when we attended a wedding being held there on a rainy Saturday. Overall, nice romantic setting with parks and shopping close by. Pros: Convenient location, beautiful decor, helpful staff Cons: Overpriced drinks in lounge (A glass of Sangria was $14), shower leaked ALL OVER bathroom floor, room service food was subpar, toast and silverware were missing, pool was dirty

Beautiful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/30/07
We had a great time. The service is incredible. The rooms are amazing. The best Bed ever. A little far from the river front, so in February it was a bit cold. I will book time to stay again.

A gross disappointment
By James, 09/17/07
Three couples went to the Mansion for a weekend. The valet service was good, the food was good, but everything else was a dismal performance by an incompetent staff. One room had water coming out of the ceiling, all of the showers leaked under the door flooding the room, we had no turndown service even after we specifically told them we had been missed and wanted the second day to go better. Two rooms were not ready at check in time even after we stored luggage with the front desk 4 hours prior to check in time. We did not expect to check in early, but they made no attempt to assure that our room was ready by 4PM. They offered a weak apology then called the room to see if it was acceptable. After prompting, they gave us a free drink coupon for the guests whose rooms were late. Then we found that the coupon did not even cover the cost of a glass of wine in the bar. The bartender was arrogant and aloof and the only wine they offered was $15 per glass with no wine list available to review. The piano bar had a wine list - a photo copy page with hand scribble all over. Last, they charged a resort fee for which there was no service. The "transportation" available could not handle us because we had 6 people. I wrote the office manager, who has never responded. We will never stay in a Kessler property again.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/07
Much was very positive: room size, furnishings, ammenities. Wonderful concierge service. Fantastic restaurant. Great location on the park. But for the money and reputation we were disappointed in a couple things. Some linens and bathmats were unraveling. The very chic shower has a stupid design that leaves a pool of water on the floor every time. Worst of all: they have a system for ordering breakfast in the rooms with a hanger you leave on the door, and you ask for delivery in 15 minute time slots, like 8:00-8:15 a.m. We ordered breakfast for when we needed it. After it was 10 minutes after the end of the time slot we called the kitchen and they said they were running 45-60 minutes behind. So you can't count on getting breakfast when you order it and may have to miss it or be late if you have an appointment.

Word of caution...
By Lori, 06/27/07
We held a large meeting at the Mansion, filling close to fifty rooms. The cozy hotels suites are full of flair and character. In the mornings we did not want to roll out of those plush beds. The location leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the shopping and food venues are a good walk away. Before you rent a car consider the 19.00 a night valet fee. The spa service is fantastic and the facilites are more relaxing than the small outdoor pool. Not as much can be said for the service overall. The planning staff was of little assistance. The hotel provided a charter bus without a.c. Our group is not use to the humidity, so it took a while to recover from that one. We waited hours for a simple pillow and blanket then they tacked on a hefty fee. The staff was unable to attend to the rooms and change the bedding until late in the evening. Beware you will be paying for a four star Island hotel without the perks. Lunch for three can easily run you one hundred dollars. With fees taxes and gratuity this hotel is out of its league.
