Hampton Inn and Suites Stamford, Stamford

Internet WIFI kept dropping. Called tech support no help. ATM was down. Morning food service was sketchy. Could not control thermostat in room.

the breakfest was bad. coffee was bad too. vending machines weren't kept stocked. the hotel was okay. the room was great. i wouldn't stay here again.

1. There's a sink in the bedroom, but no towels or soap to work there and use it. 2. I found it pretty unbelievable but they had no local street maps to hand out. 3. The room was very cold with drafts, even though I turned the temperature up to 77 degrees in the room. When I walked into the room the heating system had been turned off and it was quite cold. The outside temperatuire was around 30 degrees. Took a couple of hours to even get a little bit warm. 4. They have a postage size floor mat to stand on in the bathroom, otherwise you are standing on an ice cold floor. 5. The TV clicker had the back missing and the batteries fell out. There was an annoying delay every time you wanted to click thru to the next channel. 6. The towel rack in the bathroom was broken. 7. The sink in the bathroom had a large crack in it. 8. The microwave in the room has a really annoying and terrible light that shines right in your face when you are lying on the that side of the bed that faces it. Awful. 9. The curtains in the room did not work right and I could not open them properly. 10. The handle to the closet door was broken. 11. Although they tout their bed as being extremely comfortable, the one I slept on was hard as a rock and bumpy. I could not get to sleep on it at all. 12. If you want a quick snack, sandwich, or bottled water, etc., the gas station at the corner has a decent little store to get things from.

When we arrived I notified the front desk that the AC was not working. She said it was being repaired, and it was out of service for the whole building and instructed us to open the windows. After opening the windows, which had no screens, the room still did not cool off to a comfortable level and bugs were coming in. None of the 3 people in our party slept. We were very disturbed by the temperature discomfort, outside noise, and bugs. When we addressed the situation at the front desk at checkout all she said was that the AC was turned off for the season and the person on the night before must have misinformed us. Then she changed her story to say that there must have been a power outage. We were so dissatisfied with our stay and the response to the problem that we will probably never stay at this hotel again.
