Hotel Blue, Myrtle Beach

We have stayed at Hotel Blue twice before, but it is becoming very run down. The balcony door kept coming off the track. The smoke detector was hanging off the wall. The water ran hot and cold. The ice machines did not work, and the elevators only worked sporadically. The night manager was VERY rude and is in dire need of a crash course in customer service! Very disappointed!!!

i have been going to the beach for 5 years now and this is the 1st time we stayed at hotel blue and we loved it there going back in may of 2012 and i will stay here at HOTEL BLUE

Hotel Blue was amazing! The only problem was some people got into the hot tub and got nasty in there. But otherwise i would go back with my hubby!

1st off we had an ocean view executive room. 89.00 a night for what i consider a lot of space for a hotel. Check in was a little slow as the room was not ready due to a storm, not the hotels fault. Great view from our balcony and the walk way. What some people forget is there are hundreds of people using these rooms, maybe thousands, with that kind of traffic, you cant expect each room to be perfect, there are those who abuse their stay. however i found the hotel staff to be most courteous. read most of these complaints carefully, broken hair dryers, slow elevators, hot elevators and such. this hotel does not deserve such a low rating. I travel alot and would easily give this place 3 stars. great location , low price and cleanliness. Dont expect the hilton, but for the price, even a little more, this is a very good place to stay. And i dont feel like the web site photos misrepresented this hotel, its actually a very nice place. you'll love the swim up bar, but 8.00 bucks for a frozen drink???? but that what all the local hotels charged. have fun , we did, and will definitely stay here again next year. no i'm not a staff member, but after reading the reviews and seeing first hand, i had to write and dispute some of the bad reviews. My wife loved it , and she's very hard to please.

This hotel looks good in the picture from ocean front. But the back where you enter from the street is narrow only 6 parking spaces and dirty. The room was dirty with water stains on walls and ceiling. hen my daughter leaned against the headboard it fell off the wall. We looked to find it was held on by a bracket with a thumb tack. We stayed from the 4th of july till 8th and paid over 500.00 for the 4 nights. When I complained of the dirty room they did up grade us for the last 2 nights to ocean front which was much cleaner. so I have to give them credit for that but I think had I shopped around we could have found something better for the same money. very loud crowd and right next to a open air club which you can hear through the walls till wee hours.

When finding a room to reserve we found this motel with a great price for an oceanfront room. ALL of the major hotel reservation web sites decribe this motel as having "CLEAN NEWLY RENOVATED ROOMS" WRONG!!!! The rooms were clean but not even close to being "NEWLY RENOVATED" as we were led to belive. I wonder why when booking that none of the nearby lodging didnt even come close to the low rates they were offering at the blue bay, thinking at the time we were going to be staying in an updated place. The best features this place has to offer is its oceanfront location and a little carryout.
