Lovely Stay
By Debra, 12/20/09
Our daughter graduated from UTMB on Friday night and we could not have asked for a better travel experience. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We arrived late and our rooms were ready. When one room key did not work, we were promptly provided with an up-grade.

Better than Hilton

Service great, rooms great. very clean. Desk went out of their way. My little dog was welcome, and not charged $25.00. Most dogs are cleaner than people, and La Quinta seems to know this. She didn't use the bathroom shower or sink. I did. Very very nice place.

Never Stay Here Again
By Beverly, 09/12/08
We stayed here twice before right after it opened. It was nice and we enjoyed our visits. But, this time things sure had changed. The place is going downhill. The place smelled bad, our doorknob to the balcony was broke and wouldn't lock, the soap dish in the shower was held up by rusty screws with rust running down the marble, the sink looked like it was falling out of the vanity and someone had ran a big bead of caulk around it to fill in the crack. There were dogs EVERYWHERE. Everytime we got in the elevator there were wet smelly dogs - dog pee in the elevator - dog poop in the stairwell. We will never stay there again! I warned my sister and her family canceled and made reservations elsewhere. We checked around while we were in town and found several nice clean hotels for the same price or less. So we will be staying with one of them from now on.

Great Hotel EXTREMELY RUDE Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/08
We stayed at this hotel April of 2007 and enjoyed the clean room, great breakfast, and very polite staff. Well, we are going back to Galveston in October and we wanted to stay at this hotel again. When we called to speak to someone they referred us to the booking number WHAT? this is NOT how we booked it before, of course I know it may have changed, but instead of being polite about it the male on the other end of the line asked "how would you feel if you were checking in and someone was on the phone with another customer?" plus he explained that he was checking someone in at the time and didn't want to take our call, okay, fine he just lost business for this hotel because we have now booked through a different hotel.....SORRY, but we went with a hotel that had time for their customers....

We Enjoyed our stay
By Clarissa, 09/13/07
Although it is further down the island from whats considered the main area, it was an ideal spot for us. Its not as busy(traffic)and the part of the beach that it is across from is more secluded and you will not have a lot of people around you....perfect for the couple looking for a little peace and privacy.

Not what you think it is
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/07
I paid 20.00 extra per night and requested a room with ocean view. I thought I was getting a room on the front faceing the ocean. I had a room on the second floor on the side looking at the pool. When I asked about this, I was told all rooms on the side were considered ocean view. The bath tub was rusty and the finish was off and ruff when you sit down. Don't pay extra for a view. this was on July 24/2007.

We will be back.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/07
Our cruise was leaving from Galveston, TX. So we stayed 1 night in Galveston prior to leaving on cruise. This room was unbelievable. Extremely clean and quiet!! Our cruise ship arrival was delayed for emergency medical reasons-- so we stayed here again when we ported back in Galveston. We will definetly stay here again!!!

Clean Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
Our stay was great. This is a great hotel for families. Room was nice, big and clean. Microwave and refridge in room were convienent. Offered free parking and the breakfast was great as well - plenty to choose from. The pool and hot tube we great as well. The only set back was that you cant swim in beach right across from the hotel - water comes right up to the concrete sea wall. We had to drive to the area of the beach where we could swim in. But overall this is a great place for your money - compared to the price of other 'nice' hotels around.

Pleasant Surprise
By dlprn, 08/03/06
Large, clean, nice, room at a good rate. Comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure in the shower. Only complaint was weak wireless internet signal causing sporatic access.
