Hang on to your wallet!

Good & Bad. The rooms were lovely, very clean and luxurious with wonderful beds and down comforters. The decor and atmosphere were very relaxing, and the architectural details and design of the resort are enchanting.
We found the valet crew to be wonderfully helpful. We flew our plane in to the local airport, and the valet crew drove us into town and provided helpful suggestions for dining. and shopping. The housekeeping, valet, and bar staff were great, but management was unhelpful, and downright rude.
We were charged for parking fees when we didn't even have a car, and they charge you up front $100 per day for incidentals regardless of whether or not you charge anything to your room.
When we called prior to our visit we were told we would not need a car to get to the ski area, but upon arrival were told each trip to the ski area would cost $100 unless we took the bus, which only comes once per day, and late in the morning. We ended up using the bus, but it was inconvenient to have to get a ride into town each morning to catch the earlier bus so as to have a full day of skiing. Would recommend staying in Ski Valley or renting a car if you plan to ski.
The worst experience was that the restaurant manager denied us breakfast on Christmas morning when we arrived five minutes after their early cutoff (9:30am) because they were preparing for brunch at 11am. We were late because we'd had the valet drive us into town that morning. The chef happened to be standing nearby and suggested room service, but the manager refused room service too! She then told us we could not even make reservations for the high-priced brunch because they were booked. The hotel was only at 70% capacity at Christmas, so no clue why two more guests would have been that much of an inconvenience. Definitely not the service you expect from a resort of this quality! We've travelled all over the world and never received such blatantly rude treatment from management personnel. The sympathetic valet drove us all over town looking for a restaurant open on Christmas morning! Luckily we found one, thanks to him!
The restaurant food was average, but the portions small, and the cost was very high for what you got - if you got to eat at all! Generally better dining for much more reasonable prices to be found in town.
Would recommend the hotel itself, but check your bill carefully for incorrect charges and stay away from the restaurant unless you enjoy overpaying and being treated rudely! No room at this inn for Christmas breakfast - not even for their guests!
