Might go back,,,,maybe!
By Ralph, 11/17/09
Good personnel at front desk, Valet parking OK. Great location. However, our room for 3 was too very small, the beds not good. Not all ice machines working. Just a lot of little things need attention.

Great Place to Stay for Weekend
By Taranjit S, 6/4/07
It was last minute plan and it turned out to be a great deal. Hotel was right close to all the action. Have been to New Orleans before 3 times and this was the most economical stay yet very pleasent. best was the free breakfast. The hallway crapet was not clean but the rooms were with good light and clean. Will surely go again and stay at same place.

Tough Neighborhood
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/06
Post Katrina Guest - Our group of 6 split 3 rooms. Two of the rooms had no windows and the room with the window had bars that gave us the nice prision feel. There was a domestic disturbance on one of our floors that require police intervention. The Continental Breakfast was terrible. If you can afford to pay a little more, do it. The room did have a nice card indicating ways to avoid being mugged. Have fun. Been to New Orleans before and after Katrina, never need to go back.

WORST Western!
By D, 5/14/06
Package deal, including air, from Boston, for $575 for five nights during Jazz Fest, quite a good deal. We have been to NOLA many times and paid more. Not sure if we got what we paid for or not. Arrived Thurs at 1:30pm. The surly desk person informed us that check-in wasn't until 3pm. Another woman showed us to an unlocked room with other luggage, to drop ours. I added a hat, lipstick, etc, and so was in there a good fifteen minutes unattended. Made sure my jewelry was in my carry-on satchel, and off we went, to lunch. We returned and kicked off our shoes. The room was really, really small, but nicely appointed. The saga continues. Noticed wet tacky spot (bare feet) in front of the armoire, and a dry yellow spot next to it – dog? Well, it's a pet hotel, and although not appealing, we let it go. The wet spot took a couple of days to dry out, though. And the rest: Complementary breakfast was a bit Spartan. There is no room/food service at all, and is so noted by the hotel. Friday's maid left no replacement coffee pack, but at least we knew someone had been there. Sat & Sun maids-Sat's took bath towels with a promise to return with new, and never did. Sun's was very nice. None Monday. Fortunately, my roommate had the foresight to ask for more tp, coffee, etc, previously, or we would have run out. On Sat, my roommate somehow managed to reprogram the safe. Nothing would open it, so called the desk. Twenty minutes later, she went "in search of". She found a maintenance man (lovely person, but no English) who was clueless re: opening the safe, but he did go get a manager, who got it open. Maybe we'd still be sitting there if someone hadn't gone looking. TV remote worked inconsistently. Cable channels were extremely limited, lots of sports/news channels. The channel info and time stamps were wrong on the screen! So don't use that to check the time and station! Handle (screw-in type) fell off the cold water stem. We screwed it back in. Large water leak/stain on the hall carpet, covered with towels at one point. The Sunday maid had us checking out that day instead of Tuesday. When I checked out, two additional nights on the bill. Ms. Surly (who was in a better mood that day), seeing my confirmation, did take the charges off. And the best - I got flea bitten!!! Started on day three. Just a few, but enough to drive me nuts. From the bed, although my rommate didn't get bitten. Figured it out, day four, and oh well, we are leaving tomorrow. I came home, and blasted my luggage and all contents with non-toxic flea spray, and closed everything up. We wondered about service levels, post-Katrina; and we also tolerated much because we it was so cheap. I would still rename it, "The Worst Western". When next we go (and we will, New Orleanians really need us to come, thanked us profusely for doing so; and this trip was basically seamless and lots of fun, nonetheless) – we will spend a bit more. Maybe that hotel with the pool and courtyard again, that ruined us!

Great place to stay
By pinki, 9/14/05
This is a great place to stay. the rooms where very clean and up to date. Not to much traffic and after 10 o,clock the door was locked and you needed your doorkey to get in. Friendly Customer service people and room service. The bar was not open during the week and a little snackbar or sandwich shop would be great to have for the times you don't want to venture out. other than that, great place to stay. within walking distance of pretty much everything right off canal street..

good value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/05
The Best Western St. Christopher in New Orleans has clearly been redone fairly recently. The interior is well designed and generally a crowd pleaser. The price could not be better and was of much higher value than the hotel I stayed in in the quarter later in my trip. The only real downside I saw to the hotel is that I ended pu with an interior room, ie no window. This was not a factor as I stayed out quite late and did not particularly want to be woken by the sun. The room was somewhat small as is typical for a city hotel.
