What a disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/10
The place was terrible. The staff, even the owner was rude and could care leas about therir guests. Their reservations policy is to commit the guest 15 days in advance with no refund but they will cancel the reservation at any time if they feel it's on therir best interest, such as having a regular desire the room you reerved. The food was horrible, the walls thin and in the winter it is freezng cold. Next time I will stay in a Best Westen. At least they heat the rooms.

A really "Cool" place to stay!
By madelyn, 07/19/05
I had a meeting at Appalachian State University on a Monday morning. I also needed a quick getaway to renew--even a one night getaway. I found the Blowing Rock Victorian Inn on the internet. What a delightful place. When I made my reservation, Scott advised me to bring a sweater--It was 90° at my house. He was right! It was 72°. I arrived and he greeted me and asked me to join him on the upper deck with the other guests and Innkeeper Chris. We were all sitting around talking and enjoying each other's company. Scott and Chris were very helpful in picking out a restaurant. And, the real bonus--I could walk and be there within minutes. My room was lovely. It had a king bed (unbelievably comfortable), television, refrigerator, an air conditioner (I think, a just in case sort of amenity), and though I did not use it, a lovely fireplace. But, my room was the turret room where there was a sofa and chair. A great place to read or relax. I had brought my knitting, so I knew what I would do when I got back from Dinner. I slept like a log with a soft, gentle mountain breeze coming through the windows. Heavenly. Breakfast was wonderful. Lots of steaming coffee--a delicious salmon quiche with fresh fruit. Everything about my trip to Blowing Rock was perfect and the Blowing Rock Victorian Inn was the reason!

A Wonderful Find!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/05
My husband and I travel a lot and very few times have we stepped into a place and been made to feel so at home and welcome. We had a wonderful time with great conversations with the hosts who were attentive but gave us the alone time we needed. We would recommend the Blowing Rock Victorian Inn to all who seek a romantic getaway.

Our second time was even better than our first
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/05
This was our second trip to Blowing Rock to celebrate our anniversary, it was also our second time staying at the Victorian Inn. We love the privacy of the rooms and the hospitality of the hosts is outstanding. They manage to make you feel both pampered, yet right at home all at the same time. Our favorite room has a corner whirlpool built for 2, a fireplace and goes right out onto the deck. We booked here the first year for the value, this year because it was like celebrating with friends. We're already booked for next year's anniversary. Hopefully it'll snow again!

The Victorian Inn rocks!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/05
My husband and I have stayed in many, many B&Bs, and can tell the difference between those where you're just considered another dollar sign walking in the door and those where you are an honored guest - we felt pampered and welcome at the Victorian Inn - it's one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in over the years and I highly recommend it. Scott is a great host. The inn gives you a sense of privacy and a feeling of relaxation. We loved the food and the Friday night happy hour. It was a great little getaway and very relaxing. We hope to return in the near future.
