A really "Cool" place to stay!
I had a meeting at Appalachian State University on a Monday morning. I also needed a quick getaway to renew--even a one night getaway. I found the Blowing Rock Victorian Inn on the internet. What a delightful place. When I made my reservation, Scott advised me to bring a sweater--It was 90° at my house. He was right! It was 72°. I arrived and he greeted me and asked me to join him on the upper deck with the other guests and Innkeeper Chris. We were all sitting around talking and enjoying each other's company. Scott and Chris were very helpful in picking out a restaurant. And, the real bonus--I could walk and be there within minutes. My room was lovely. It had a king bed (unbelievably comfortable), television, refrigerator, an air conditioner (I think, a just in case sort of amenity), and though I did not use it, a lovely fireplace. But, my room was the turret room where there was a sofa and chair. A great place to read or relax. I had brought my knitting, so I knew what I would do when I got back from Dinner. I slept like a log with a soft, gentle mountain breeze coming through the windows. Heavenly.
Breakfast was wonderful. Lots of steaming coffee--a delicious salmon quiche with fresh fruit.
Everything about my trip to Blowing Rock was perfect and the Blowing Rock Victorian Inn was the reason!
