Just fine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/09
I needed a place to stay for the night. The price was right, the night desk clerk was friendly, bathroom appeared clean, sheets too, and that was all I needed.

would rather sleep in the mud
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/09
This place is the biggest dump ever. The bed bugs are terrible, the sheets are never clean, the carpets are nasty, the rooms smell, and all the staff is very poor. The manager "Mark" is no good for nothing either. This hotel has been reported many times for people becoming sick, and bit by bugs, and still nothing has been done. Must be they are waiting for someone to die first, or get shot and mugged from all the people tha are let in by the staff. The best part of this is.....C S X (railroad) forces its employes to stay here. CSX says they care about saftey.......ha ha ha.....must be pitch to win a trophy, because they dont care at all.

BED BUG INN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/28/09
Just stayed there and now I have bed bug bites! Disgusting hotel, dirty rooms, old fashioned horrible place to stay! Dirty washroom, toilet seat had black in and all around it. Only good thing is that it's close to the mall but Id rather drive 40 miles then ever stay here again! 1 star is too high a rating for this place

Hotel staff used our credit card illegally
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/09
We stayed to show at nearby Walden Galleria mall. We decided to stay at Oak Treen since it was cheapest than the Hampton and Marriot across from the mall. The hotel staff seemed friendly at first, but after our stay, we discovered out credit card had been charged for various things, such as an airplane ticket, energy bills, etc. We are certain it was the hotel staff (the night manager, black guy named Keith) since he called our room and asked for the expiry date in a nervous voice. Silly enough we gave out that information wondering why he would need it again in the first place. So becareful with your credit card with these people. Btw, the hotel room also smelled like smoke. Our next visit we will stay at the brand name hotel.

Excellent Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/08
Before heading to Cheektowaga (Oct 4th -5th) I searched in fine detail places to stay (we are from Canada), we wanted something near everything and that is when I came across Oak Tree Inn. After reading the reviews I was VERY skeptical on staying here, but for the price and location decided to anyways. I had heard everything from dirty rooms, to ripped sheets to dogs barking etc. fortunatley we had NONEof this. Our room and sheets were clean, the room was spacious and we found everyone there to be quite accomodating. Another great thing about this place is you can use the hot tub ALL night, thats a definite bonus. We would for sure recommend this place to people!!!

Dont stay here
By Brian M, 10/05/08
Spent Oct 3 & 4th. Blankets were shabby and dirty. They asked us on sat if we wanted the room made up only to find that the housekeeper never came in at all. Had to go get our own clean towels and didn't get new supplies. Location is central to Galleria Mall and shops, however overall one of the worst places I have ever stayed.

Our Experience at Oak Tree Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/08
We were returning from a weekend trip from Pennsylvannia back to Toronto and decided to stay at Oak Tree. (every place else was booked) The staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean, that's all that we cared as we just wanted to sleep. The lady behind the counter gave us 2 eight dollar vouchers for breakfast at Alton's (great breakfast) and we headed home. After arriving home and started unpacking the next day we realized that we were missing a bag with a Nintendo D.S. games and some other valubles, after searching the whole house I decided to call Oaktree and see if we had possibly left it in the room...and sure enough it was there. They offered to send it over to us (Toronto) by I decided to go back and pick it up, good day for a motorcycle ride. When I arrived the gentleman was very polite and everything was just as I left it. We would like to thank all at Oak Tree for there hospitality (especially the room attendant) and we would definetly come back again. Thank-You Steve Skinner and Family

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/08
The price on this hotel is NOT worth the hassle. The girl that checked us in on Friday morning was very informative, and very helpful. That is the last positive thing I have to say about this place. The girl at the desk that evening was rude, and it seemed like she didn’t even want to be there. She refused to give us any direction what so ever, and acted if I was inconveniencing her in someway. On Saturday morning, when we left for the day I saw the housekeeping buggy in the hallway, and when I went to ask the housekeeper for fresh linen, I saw him sleeping on the bed. Needless to say, my room was never cleaned, and there was no one at the front desk at all Saturday night (I waited 20 minutes, 3 separate times!), and the place was a ghost house Sunday morning, so I wasn’t able to get a receipt for the stay, which caused us problems getting home. The hotel made what was supposed to be a relaxing long weekend, a wicked nightmare. I would never stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone, unless they rehire all the useless people that were working there all weekend, and they obviously need a change in management. Although, I can say, when we did check in, the room was very clean, but, the hallways and stairways look like a mud monster ran through them. I can’t believe I paid near $200 for this pain…

Good value and location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/07
I just returned from a girl's weekend to Buffalo to shop. This hotel is close to the Galleria Mall. Definately not 5 star but we just wanted a place to sleep for a night. I reserved the room on-line and it was exactly as described. The young man at the front desk was friendly and helpful when asked questions. The room was clean and comfortable. Did I smell cigarette smoke? Yes, but I've smelled smoke in 5 star hotel rooms that say they're non smoking. The five dollar coupon for breakfast at a nearby restaurant was great. The restaurant staff were friendly. Definately would go back to this hotel.

If you have a dog, DO NOT stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/07
We checked into this hotel because it was described as "pet-friendly." Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk was terse and inhospitable. Our room did not have enough towels or any soap, forcing us to buy the latter. The sheets on the beds were of poor quality and had many rips and tears. During our first night in the room, the air conditioning barely worked. The following day, we left our fifteen pound dog in his crate in our room for three hours. Upon return, we were met in the hall by the staff and informed that we were being forced to leave because our dog had been heard whining and scratching in his cage. They also claimed that he had been barking despite the fact that he does not. In fact, the dog in the room next door had been barking for much of our stay and we were told that that room would also be asked to leave. We received no warning, and they had not asked for a phone number upon check-in, so we know that no effort was made to contact us to address the situation. The staff informed us that it is their policy that after a single complaint, they immediately ask the guests in that room to leave. We were also told that we would have to pay for the following night that we were now not staying. The staff stated that many dog owners have been kicked out of their rooms recently, and that many train passengers stay at their hotel during the day and try to sleep. This seems to be a conflict of interest since basically every dog makes some sort of noise and the hotel is not arranged in any way so that people with pets and those who want to sleep during the day are separated. Overall, we would advise not staying at this hotel. There is a Red Roof Inn nearby that is cheaper, friendlier, and more accomodating of animals.
