Hotel Omm, Barcelona

The Hotel OMM had just opened when we visited (a hallway or two were still under construction). However, it was a really great place for a couple reasons: 1. Location. It is close to the Old Part of Barcelona without being in it. This means you can walk around and enjoy the pedestrian streets without going home to a claustrophopic hotel. 2. Design. The place was just really different and very modern. The rooms were super comfortable and either faced a courtyard or the street. The rooms facing the street had windows that looked like they were peeled away from the facade (very cool: you'd have to see a picture). 3. Pool and roof area. The hotel has a pool on the roof from whcih you can look out towards downtown and see a sizeable chunk of Barcelona. Very nice and well-maintained. 4. Restaurant, etc. We had breeakfast at the restaurant and it was nice (made to order). We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant for dinner (a bit formal). The place also has a nightclub which looked popular although we didn't go.
