Best Value Inn Nordic Lodge Of, Steamboat Springs

Upon check in, Nordiac Lodge did not give us the kns room we had reserved, but 2 queens and a different location near the noisey street. We complained bitterly, but no options were offered. A $50 deposit is required to hold a room. Therefore, a contract should be honored especially when made nearly two months in advance. Also, upon reconfirmation, they had the wrong date and wanted to charge us a higher rate. The $50 deposit slip showed we were to get room 111, kns in the back; we got rm 128, 2 q's on the street. The manager admitted they had given our room to law officers, then chided us for being unpatriotic and ungrateful.

We have stayed at the nordic lodge on several occasions and I am trying to figure out how they can even give a one star rating to this hotel. It has never been very clean and the rooms are extremely small. Oh, and if you are very lucky, you can stay in an upstairs room where the stairs are in poor shape and the walls are soo thin that you and your neighbor get to know each other well. The only good thing about the nordic is it's location... you will definitely need to have a couple drinks before you decide to sleep on the wood they call a bed.

When we got to Steamboat - we felt in love with downtown - it's got a lot of charm and great restaurants. We wanted to be right there instead of the Holiday Inn 2 miles away, where we stayed the first night. We asked around, called around, and the Nordic Lodge was the hotel mentioned most often as the best place - remodelled, pool, hot tub, great breakfast. And really, we were surprised how nice the place was. You wouldn't say that passing by it, but the rooms were modern, a lot nicer than the ones at the Holiday Inn and sparkling clean. And the price was better! Not to mention the location! It made such a huge difference staying downtown, and we were so happy to find this place. We really loved the backyard - by the creek - where the pool was. Incredibly nice place and nice people - we will definitely be back.
