Super 8 Motel Dania Ft Lauderdale Airport, Dania

My husband and I booked this hotel for a 1 night stay before boarding our cruise. We arrived at the airport at about 10 am and they offer free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and hotel to cruise port. We were picked up around 1030 or so and had to hang out in the lobby until check in time at 2. We placed our bags in the room and went out. Once we got back we got ready for bed and once turning the bed down we found bugs after that we were looking around the room we noticed them on the walls as well. I went down to the lobby to report this and they offered me Raid spray to spray the beds with. The same beds they expected us to sleep in. Unbelievable! I explained again that they were on the bed and asked for someone to come upstairs to see them. They refused so I took pictures and brought some down to them. They threw them in the garbage and continued to express the fact that we checked in at 2 and never said anything before this (10 pm) so I continued to tell them they knew we went out because we asked about local places and we were not in the room. It felt like they were insinuating the bugs came from us! This stay was awful and we checked out at 10 pm to stay at the Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale. They refused to refund our money or even offer us a ride somewhere else. I highly do NOT recommend this hotel. I have since spoken to the district manager at Super 8 and she has refused to take the blame for this horrible experience as well. Stating she spoke with the front desk staff and they stated we left the room trashed which is not true considering I took pictures.

I left a battery and chgarger for my camera in a room before leaving on a cruise. I discovered it and called from the ship. I was told that I could get it by sending a self addressed postage paid envelop to the motel and it would be sent. I called no less than ten times and have waited forty five days. The battery was located but nobody cares. It was obvious during the stay, too. No one is in charge, everyone is disinterested except the housekeeper who said she had the battery. I have never been neglected like this for a simple request. If you get a chance to stay there pass it up. JEF
