No Good
By Laura M, 11/06/08
I'm a budget traveler but this was a disaster. The room was pitiful, the pool was broke and freezing. The staff tried to be friendly but they couldn't speak enough english for us to communicate anything to them. They didn't even know what a wake up call meant. But mostly the rooms were just pitiful.

Worst customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/08
Managers and staffs here were all rude and couldn't care less about the customer. I dont know if it's because they are not Americans (middle eastern i guess) but definitely would not be coming back here. The place is not that safe either and you couldn't expect the management of the inn would help you if something happens. Definitely not a good place to stay in, not even worth your money.

Not worth a return visit...
By Moe, 09/13/08
The quoted price wasnt what i was charged...room smelled musty...no remote for TV...had to ask. Shower drain didn't. and the pool wasn't clean enough to chance a dip. If i return to the area it will not include this hotel.

Just what we needed
By sage_blaster, 09/25/07
My husband and I are from Las Vegas. We were on a tight budget and could not afford to stay on Balboa Island again this trip. I was hesitant to try this place due to a couple of other reviews. No frills, of course. Found the manager to be very businesslike but quite pleasant. Nothing was broken, the pool was old but clean, the other guests were considerate for a Friday night. I did not expect a microwave or a fridge, but they did come in handy. The bed was okay, cleanliness was well above expectations. We felt safe here and thought it was a good value for the price.

Just what I was looking for
By Bay M, 05/15/07
This was just what I was looking for. Great price, clean room, nice location. The old man I read about wasnt rude, the tv worked fine without a remote & the location is great since it is close to a lot of restaurants & right down the block from the diney parking lot. For the price this place is a great deal.

I would NEVER go back again!
By Jane Dough, 01/23/07
We found this run down little motel late in the evening on a Wednesday night. We stopped because the sign state "$45 rooms!" Exhasuted and on limited funds, we pulled in. For $75, we got two beds, a heater that didnt work, and a TV with no remote. Even though no checkout time was stated or posted, we left around 10 am the next morning. The desk clerk was not only rude to me, but charged us twice when we only stayed there one night. When I called him to inquire about the double charge he told me several times to shut up, stating that because we used both beds he would now have to clean the room. I said "You dont usually clean the both beds anyways?" He said no. I was in disbelief and rather upset. I will never stay there again. Dirty, rude, and dishonest.

Very Pleasant Stay
By Guds, 11/24/06
For the Price,Its great,Except I wish there was more choice in their Breakfast. The staff was so nice, they were very helpful. On the day I was leaving,I requested to get directions off the internet,The staff on duty ,even got me a print-out of the directions.Free. The rooms are comfortable, and in a good location, very close to Disneyland. The rooms are clean, compact. Room Service is regular and quick. I came here for a vacation to disneyland with my Son and My Mom. We loved it here.

For first timers and DisneyLand tourists, it was great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/06
The service was fine, they just had someone who had misread what we had booked so it was a little confusing at first, but we had someone to help us out. In the end, everything was just wonderful. There was a pool, but we never had the chance to take a dive in it. It looked very clean and safe. The room was amazingly clean, neat, and organized. Nothing was broken. There were no bugs. The best part was a working air conditioner which I turned on for most of our stay there. The bathroom was very neatly organized and clean. If anyone get a chance to go there, definitely order out from Papa Johns Pizza, the number is over by the phone. It was a very enjoyable stay for my Husband and I and our 7 month old son. Walmart was not too far from this hotel so having a familiar store to go to was great because we sure didn't know what a lot of the stores in LA were since we're from Madison, WI (Midwest). For first time travelers and for being in California for the first time, I give this hotel a 5 star. We would definitely come back!

Would Stay Here Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/05
I, my sister, and her 3 kids (ages 9,6,3)stayed here for six nights. We had one room w/2 queen beds (room 11) on the second floor. The two older kids took turns sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag we brought. The room was a good size and was very clean. The microwave and refrigerator worked great and came in very handy. A knob was missing to the air conditioner, but we were still able to work it fine. We were going to use the pool the first day we arrived, but the water was cold and very dirty. We never looked at the pool again, so I don't know if the cleanliness improved. There is some street noise and you can hear a train at night (our room was closest to the street). However, we were so exausted from being at Disneyland all day, the noise was not enough to keep us awake. My sister & I thought the beds were comfortable. We bought tickets at the front desk for the Tram to and from Disneyland, but used it only on the way home. The trams never seemed to show up in the mornings. It took us just 15 minutes to walk to Disneyland. Overall, we would definitely stay here again. We were on a tight budget and this place gave us everything we needed for less than $40/night. Very Happy Customer.
