Ranch House Motel, Jamestown

Two months prior to my stay, I had reserved a room with my credit card for 3 nights. As I had travelled quite a distance, I arrived at 10:15 pm thinking I was secure with my reservation because it was prepaid with my credit card. WRONG! The owner/manager who waited on me was very rude in telling me I no longer had a room and he had given it to someone else because I had not arrived by 10:30 pm. I informed him that it wasn't yet 10:30 and that he had no right giving it to someone else since I had prepaid it with my credit card. He began yelling at me and told me he had no rooms available and I should have called earlier and told him I was coming in. He was very rude and belligerent, blaming his error on me, the customer. This behavior went on for approximately 10 minutes before he told me there was another motel that might have a room available. I thanked him and told him I had arranged for a very important FedEx package to arrive at his motel in the morning as I needed it for a business meeting that same day. He began screaming at me again, asking why I would have it sent to his motel. I told him that I was expecting to stay there because I had reservations for 3 days. He was very angry that he was being asked to accept this package on my behalf. He did accept it for me but the next day when I called to find out if it had come in, he became very angry and said he had never heard of me and why would someone have a package sent to his motel when I wasn't even staying there! I picked up my package and told him that I expected my credit card to be reimbursed for the amount he had charged me for the reservation. He was very unhappy about it and let me know about it. Eventually, he wrote me a check for the amount. I would advise some serious caution dealing with this motel.
