Always my first choice in Bend
I have stayed here 3 times now, from 2 days to 1 week, and have had a eastern view king, and 2 different western view patio rooms. The best is the 3rd floor, southern end with a patio looking towards the west. You get the most views. Everyone is so helpful. Don, the hotel manager, has gone out of his way to make our stays enjoyable, as has the rest of the staff. The breakfast is very good with lots of choices, there is coffee and tea available all day long, and the home baked cookies at the front desk in the evening are excellent. The indoor pool is set at a comfortable temp, and the spa is probably around 102deg (we like it maxed out at 104deg). They have a business center with two computers hooked to a fast printer, and a copy machine. The workout room has plenty of stations, and no one is ever in it. There are also two washing machines and dryers. The location is great as it is above the Old Mill District, which has a 16 screen movie theater, the REI is the coolest one I have been in (located in the old power plant), plenty of shops, and dining choices ranging from Quiznos and Red Robin to fancy places. The walking trails around the river are in great shape (most everything around the hotel is new) and you can easily do a 2 mile walk without going over the same path. There is also plenty of parking, both in the hotel and in the two adjacent public lots (we tow a trailer and have had no problem parking there. If there is a negative, it is that it is a popular hotel, so they can fill up on the weekends, so getting in at the last minute can be hard at times.
