theWit Chicago - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Chicago

Before arriving at the Wit I looked on yahoo and read all of these reviews..so this is my experience. After dinner downtown we came back to the hotel and went to the rooftop bar. It was very nice, easy to get up to, and had no problems paying 10 dollars for a drink (normal price anywhere). Had a nice time up there, left around 12 or so after a long day of walking around. Here is the kicker..we were on the 26th floor, the roof top bar is on the 27th floor. We called the front desk and asked for another room, they were full. So we had to deal with it, but we did get our money back which the manager was very easy to talk to and settle this. The next morning when we were checking out we were asked about our experience and told them about the music, front desk said, "Oh no one warned you about that??" No they didn't! I wish they would have because yes it is a very popular hotel but this was a relaxing weekend for us, not to party the whole night. But they did fix the problem so I have no issues with the hotel. Also to address issues other had: The hotel front desk was very nice and went out of their way to make our stay better. The hotel was very modern and clean, beautiful rooms. Location was prime, so easy to get anywhere in the city without a cab.
