Las Rocas Resort and Dive Center, Roatan

Management very unprofessional. They need to work on being more customer friendly and understanding of complaints and feedback.

Stayed for 1 week, pre-paid room & all meals called the 'meal plan', pre-paid dive package for certified diver and learn to dive package for newbie. Dive instructors & masters rocked, fantastic all the way around. Restaurant also fantastic although very slow which is typical of the entire Carribean so... relax. Bugs- I look like I have the measles despite slathering up with bug spray and oil at all times. Yikes! Management & Owners~ have their children there at all times which would be great if they were great kids- expect screaming and crying during daylight hours. Very low on service spectrum- pressed for details on "what does my package include" there is never full disclosure. This led to disagreement w/owner upon departure. Owner literally screamed, yelled and threatented not to take to airport etc. Scared us badly. Very unprofessional and for two women travelers, very frightening. Ladies, don't go to this resort.

We stayed elsewhere but the Las Rocas restaurant and dive shop were great. You can't get a better meal anywhere in West Bay, and the price was modest ($12-$16). The dive master knows his stuff and had helpful advice for us (snorklers). Snorkeling in West Bay is poor by anyone's standards. The coral is in terrible shape. The fleas are manageable but the water taxi traffic is scary unless you are way out with a boat.

The wonderful staff of Las Rocas - the Breakfast was great - the food couldnt have been better. Mike and Johnny were great fun at happy hour everyday . I wish I could remember everyones name because they were great. A beautiful island with gorgeous water- snorkeling is great. A great place to gat away and relax. Sarah Wojciechowski

We were aboard a Norwegian cruise, and had booked our dream shore excursion (Diving in Roatan)- however, unfortunately, our excursion was cancelled. The cruise suggested we try a local dive shops. After trying a few dive shops- (no availabilities), we found LasRocas who "promised" to take us on a dive that day. We were told multiple times "come back in 1 hour." Close to sunset, we had to leave or we would have missed our ship's departure. LasRocas never made good on their "promise." We wasted our day waiting on them- when we should have looked for other dive shops. We were able to squeeze in some snorkel time. We rented our equipment from Bananarama dive shop- just down the beach from LasRocas. Bananarama was honest, and very gracious to us.

Great Location, wonderful beach, the cabanas were clean und the price was good. The crew was perfect, we hab a perfect time. With one word - paradise

We liked our room except for the running toliet and the beds were hard (as usual) the shower had no pressure and you received only 4 streams of water.. The restaurant had good food and the waiters were very nice and friendly. The location was more remote than I expected ,and was a very long walk to West End .You definently need to get a taxi ($12 for 4 people) we were there when Wilma was passing thru so we lost power and they have no t.v , radio or phones in room ..so it was a little scary... they do have internet in the office and we were able to check the status of the hurricane, until power went out. but this is not their fault But I fould out that the Island has no evauation plan for getting tourist off the island , which is very scarry... The diving we did was great except for the dive staff was not orginazed they had your equipment thrown in the boat in piles and and didn't allow anyone to do a buddy check the dive master would tell you to go to the front of the boat and wait and then he would go the the back....my husband drank a beer(which he should not of) when they docked waiting for the second dive for 1 hr and would have been 1-1/2 when they arrived at the dive site and they told him only after loading his dive gear in the boat and waited untill everyone was in the boat to anounce he could not go on the dive in front of everyone because he drank a beer. which would have been nice if they pulled him aside and told him. Padi dive book states also not to smoke several hours before diving and all the dive staff people smoked before & after the dive and when the last dive was done when they got back, they also had a beer and a smoke... I feel the las Rocas dive shop should practice what they preach .... I would recomend las Rocas except for the diving. The boat captian drove the boat very fast and with dive equipment piled on the floor smashed several peoples feet including mine.

I stayed at another resort a few hunred yards away. I spent the most of my time at Las Rocas. The staff was exellent, the food was wonderful, and the calzone was so good several of us ordered one to go as we went to the airport. The diving was amazing. Riccardo was an excellent instructor and a carful guide. I hope the bar staff, Dan, Tim and Mikey had as great of a time as our group did. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with lush greenery. The cabins were clean and had very nice funiture. I can't wait to go back!

Best week I've ever spent. Diving was superb, as were dive shop personnel (DiveMaster John in particular).Did not buy meal package, but should have as we ate 90% of meals at Las Rocas. Food was very very good. Cabanas were brand new and spotless, other guests also seemed very satisfied. Gaetano was extremely helpful and patient and is an all around great guy. Had a whole Honduran adventure including cancelled and missed flights and lost luggage before even making it to Roatan. Gaetano even took us shopping on the way from the airport, as girlfriend had only her laptop and dive computer as a carryon...Checked bag did not arrive for 3 days. There will be a return trip for us, but we'll fly direct to Roatan next time and forego the adventure before the adventure! We went to Honduras to dive and missed 3 dives due to being stranded in San Pedro Sula. Las Rocas' only problem is sand fleas, girlfriend got absolutely chewed on while we beach walked. My hairy legs saved me I think. (Don't tell the women my secret or they may opt for the unshaved option...)
