Overrated and snotty! Won't return!!!
By Dee, 12/25/09
We went to the Wynn for a much-needed vacation and to celebrate an anniversary. The first shock we had was a $575 DEPOSIT on the room (which we had already paid for). Be prepared for this -- they don't tell you this until you get to the desk to register. We were also talked into upgrading our room, and though the view was great, we had a whining whistling sound the whole time we were there (largely a result of being so high). The fridge in the room is meant for the REALLY overpriced water, candies, wines, beers that they try to sell you. Nothing is free and there is no room in the fridge to store any leftovers you might have after dinner. Coffee and breakfast cost us more than $30 each day, and when we ate dinner at one of the 'famed restaurants,' we left ill and spent the evening trying to recover. When we complained about this (as well as about the poor treatment we received from the hotel staff as well as from the stores on the property -- we were treated like we were going to steal something, and both of us are in upper management/administration at an ivy-league academic institution), all we got was an apology and an invitation to fill out a form. Anywhere else, they would have at least comp'd our meal!!! For what we paid to stay at the Wynn, we got FAR less service than we've received at many other hotels where we've stayed (either on the Strip or elsewhere throughout the world). We are both extremely disappointed with this trip and will not return to another Wynn property at any time during the near future.

Garth Brooks show
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/09
We booked Garth Brook tickets on first day they were available. The headaches we went through were unbelievable. You would swear this organization had never sold tickets to shows before. There were numerous phone calls, emails, more calls, more emails. We cannot pick up our tickets until 1200 on day of concert, us and 1500+ others. How ridiculous is that! We do want to do something else besides waiting in line to pick up tickets we have paid for almost 2 months ago. You need to refine your procedures and think of your patrons!!!

Our Vegas Home!
By s m, 12/07/09
Just got back last night, and compared to all the other hotel experiences, the Wynn/Encore "WIN" by far. I had read previous reviews regarding checkin/ice/and noise, but everything was perfect. We were checked in to our tower suite immedietly, accomdated for everything we asked for, all of the staff was so friendly & courteous! Valet was very quick. The room spoke for itself and this hotel is CLEAN! everywhere, and when you walk into the hotel you do not smell smoke or even within in the casino area itself unless you are seated next to a smoker. The dealers were also very friendly and funny, did encounter one dealer that was quiet, lame, and boring. The show La Reve was wonderful. Simply put, this will be the only hotel we will stay at from here on out! The decor is amazing and the different views. It was certainly worth the money and I will only recommend this hotel to others.

Beware of the cockroaches-we will not return!
By David, 12/07/09
I took my wife away to Vegas and stayed at the Wynn for our 15th wedding anniversary, on the request of my booking agent. The second night we were there, my wife noticed a cockroach exiting the purchase amenties in the corner. Upon further review, and capture of said cockroach, we called the front desk to complain. Almost an hour later, we were relocated to another room, that was in worse shape than the one we had vacated. A leaky shower, non working blinds, and wet footprints on the carpet all made for our missed dinner reservations to celebrate the day of wedding anniversary, and made us late for our show. All we received was a chocolate amenity from the hotel manager, uncovered, and left beside the purchase amenity tray. Would one really think that after leaving a room with cockroaches, that we would eat off an uncovered chocolate amenity tray? Horrible service, overpriced, and cockroaches from Madagascar. True to the name, "Wynn will I stay there again, NEVER!"

JUST ONCE
By David, 12/07/09
I grew up in Vegas, unfortunately! So I have stayed in many different hotels since my family is still there. my brother and I went for thanksgiving, after a 8 hour drive from LA! worst traffic ever! We were tired and hungry We waited an hour just to check in, Got scammed into upgrading to a room with a view we told her south and we got north! granted she put us on the 60th floor, our only view was an empty lot, that filthy crap hole known as Circus Circus , oh and the Mormon Temple! Thanks it was hard enough having thanksgiving with my Mormon family 'sans Liquor!' The room was sorta clean, the bathroom was the best part! The worst part was check out day! We requested a late checkout which was !:00pm since we knew we would be hungover we forgot to put the extra latch on the door and at 8:00 am! The cleaning lady let herself in and started cleaning around us! Horrifying! After we asked her to leave and said we would not be ready until noon, she tried 3 more times to enter and snaped at us as we were leaving! lesson learned! 5 star whatever I'll take the Hard Rock or the Palms over the Wynn any day!

Superbowl weekend great service, perfect dinner
By CHRIS, 12/07/09
I stayed at the Wynn for the 2009 Superbowl and I got a great deal on my room Via Yahoo Travel. The room for two nights was $200.00 total with a $100.00 credit in any of the restaurants. I have taken more than 20 trips to Las Vegas and I have stayed in almost all of the hotels on the strip, and the Wynn is now my hotel of choice. It was a little crowded at check in, but considering that it was Superbowl weekend that was to be expected. Before arriving I had called the Concierge desk and they were very helpful in setting up a reservation at Bartolotta. Going to Las Vegas is about having an experience you will not have at home, and dinner at Bartolotta will certainly live up to that. The Seafood is flown in daily and was delicious, dinner was perfect. My room was great, well for the little amount of time I spent in my room it was great. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless, and the bathroom had one of the nicest and largest bathtubs of any hotel I have stayed in, nothing beats a hot bath after 12 hours out on the town. The service was great, unfortunately I overslept and nearly missed my flight Monday morning, in my haste in leaving I left a couple of nice shirts still hanging in the closet and my laptop charger in the room. I contacted the hotel the next day and they arrived at my house the following day via FedEx at no charge. That experience was par for the course for my stay at the Wynn. The staff was friendly, courteous and polite. I never had to wait more than a few seconds when I picked up the phone to call for service and the person on the other end of the line always filled my requests promptly and correctly. Even the room service breakfast I ordered Sunday morning was good, which is not always the case when ordering hotel food. I highly recommend either staying at the Wynn or at the very least treat yourself to a very nice meal one night before going out on the town, it will be worth it.

Cannot wait not to go there again
By Sarah A, 12/07/09
We stayed at the Wynn for our honeymoon and it is over rated. We had to pay out way too much money for the room for 3 days. It was not ready when we got there. They got a little huffy when we took things from the frig and such. I figured if we paid that much for a room then we should beable to enjoy ourselves. We would have liked to play some golf but they charge the people who stay there way too much to play a round. No wonder no one was on it when we went to see the course. I must say the buffet in the Wynn was fantastic We got a couple of free buffets and used them for breakfast, we wondered what the dinner was like. We had fun gambling won some then lost it again, but that is what is all about. And watching the big spenders lose alot but keep on playing. We didn't go there to win we went there to have fun and have a nice honeymoon. Unless we could go there and not have to pay so much for the room then we more than likely will not stay there again. Didn't get to see any shows while there. Did not realize that there was a mall just down the street til the last day we were there. Sincerely Sarah Anderson-Gritzman

"the only thing we guarentee is a bed to sleep in"
By Ali88, 11/18/09
First things First the hotel is beautiful, and the SW Steakhouse was amazing both in surrounding and the food served. Now that being said, the customer service at the Wynn was HORRIBLE. We went to vegas over the weekend to celebrate my 21st birthday. My parents were staying in another room and the connecting rooms that we had requested were not availible, What Ever. Got to the room, cleaned up and went to dinner then went out. The next morning i found that the TV DIDNT WORK, extremely inconveniant. So i walked down stairs back to the registration desk and i told the lady. Instead of appologizing for the inconvience she told me "THE ONLY THING WE GUARANTEE IS A BED TO SLEEP IN". I responded i didnt relize i was staying in a hostel. If your looking to stay at the Wynn and you enjoy a certain level of CUSTOMER SERVICE you will not find it here, restruants excluded. Finally after being out all day our second day we get back to the room after dinner around 9PM and THE MAIDS WERE JUST GETTING TO OUR ROOM (Made sure to take down Privacy sign). If you want to feel taken care of while in Vegas DO NOT STAY AT THE WYNN
