Won't Go Back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/12/10
My wife and I went to the Hotel Pamntages as our yearly "get away weekend" the front desk staff were great no problem there. Some problems with room maintenance 1) when we plugged in the foutnain it smoked and there was a burning smell 2) When I had a bath in the jacuzzi tub black floaty things came out of the jets 3) when I tgot out of the bath and put on the bath robe by the hotel there was dry blood on one sleeve..gross 4) when I ordered ice it did not arrive..ever The bed was comfortable and the front desk staff did wave the parking charges and apologized profusely when I told them about our experience. I would not chance another visit back to the hotel Pantages

Take Your Chances With the Spa
By Kristin, 2/28/08
While in Toronto, I wanted to treat my partner to a wonderful surprise - an afternoon at a spa. So I booked the following Pantages spa treatment: "Romantic Ritual - Allow us to set the mood for you and that special someone, with the perfect appetizer for a relaxing evening. Relax side-by-side in a romantic setting as two therapists perform a relaxation massage. (60min) You will then sit side-by-side for an Express Pedicure for her and him. This package also includes complimentary water therapies. 2 1/2 hours $260.00" Sounds good right? Well, 2o minutes before we arrived I received a phone call telling me the water treatment wasn't available due to mechanical problems. They said they would discount the package since we were not locals and didn't have the option of returning. No biggie. So we arrived 15 minutes prior to the rescheduled time for the rest of the treatments. The hostess/staff were harried and not at all relaxed to get us ready for a "relaxing" treatment. As a person who has gotten massages at various locations around the world - these massages were shorter than 60 minutes and hardly even covered the full body missing important parts like the feet and legs. The express pedicures were so "express" that they didn't completely take the polish off my nails. We were both hoping for some sort of leg or foot massage since there was none with the other and we thought they were trying to save time...very disappointing. Next, but not last, I had to remind them of the wine and strawberries provided with the package. When it was served the white wine was warm, not room temperature or chilled as I would prefer, but warm. Yuck. As we checked out I then found out the spa only planned on discounting us $10 off the entire package for the loss of two 45 minute water treatments. When I tried to tip the staff - they had no change. How convenient. Basically, we arrived ready to be pampered and enjoy relaxing treatments but left upset by the lack of professional service and treatment in any form.

Never again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/22/07
We made the mistake of spending our anniversary at the Pantages. Here's the truth about our stay. We checked in and were given the key to our room. First impressions of the lobby were great. Once you hit the elevator that all changes. Food smears with dirty hand and finger prints mark up the inside of the elevator. Not to mention the plastic plated TV's having a constant static snow like picture trying to show off the spa on the 5th floor. We arrived in our room to no welcome amenity or wine of choice. I had to call down and remind them of what was included in our package that night. There was a knock on the door minutes later and we had a bottle of red wine with last nights deserts plastic wrapped on a scratched up ceramic plate. Truly welcoming :) Besides only having one small bathrobe, hairs in the bathroom sink, a half plastered fist hole in the bathroom door we were lucky enough to experience dirty floors as well. Pills, nacho chips, paperclips and nail clippings lined the bottom of the bed. If I hadn't of dropped something down there I would have had no clue. I suppose it's my fault for looking. Carpets are stained and pretty much at the level of "shag" in some worn parts. Room service was good - fast and very tasty. They overcharged us roughly $60 dollars on our bill. This was cleared up the next morning. Our one free movie wasn't actually free according to our bill either. If you want to experience the pantageus for a lot less just purchase a IKEA bedroom suite for home and return it the next day. How anyone can see this place as glamorous, trendy or posh is amazing. Oh and possibly most devastating of all - no semi precious tumbled stone on either of our pillows. Never again.

very half baked booking set up.
By L, 3/30/07
you can't get through to the spa reception to book your bloody appointment. they don't even have an answering machine. if you do get through they put you on hold etc.. i have no idea if their services are good. trust me if i did not have a large gift certificate to redeem, i would sooner not be bothered

Wow what a difference
By Rob, 11/7/06
I must say my stay at the Pantages was outstanding thank to a couple KEY staff members. Firstly I was greeted by a funny yet informative valet named Robert, he helped us with our bags took car of the car and even offered to throw the loose coffee cups out. Suprisingly when we forgot some CD's in the car he was more then happy to bring them up to our suite. Parking is a bit pricy but they allow you to come and go as you like. Secondly Lara was just great she was the front desk agent but I tell you she does about everything there, if I had a concern she had the right people there to help me out. Andy our concierge helped get the room ready for me when I proposed to my now wife. He had set up for chocolate covered strawberries candles all over the room a bubble bath and more he was great. If yo go to this hotel make sure to ask for them by name I'm sure they'd love to hear from you it almost as if they have fun with what they do.

Fabulous Hotel!
By Pear, 6/9/06
My first trip to Toronto we stayed at the Pantages. We stayed there over New Year's Eve. The hotel reminded me of one of those you only find in Soho in New York City. Only in a much cleaner, more friendly city! One with unique furnishings and decor. We stayed in a regular suite and loved the hardwood floors. The small kitchen area in the room was very helpful with a full size fridge and dishes to complete. The hotel's location couldnt be any nicer. Walking distance to Eaton Centre and many other entertainment, shopping and dining areas. The hotel was very clean and quite. (even on New Years Eve!) The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped me in a pinch on New Year's Eve trying to find a store open to get an outfit to wear to a club. What a lifesaver! The attached diner, Fran's is a fantastic place for breakfast! The plates of food were so large and oh so good! Overall, I loved the Pantages! It was in a great location in a safe neighborhood with friendly staff with a wonderful room! I will stay there again on my next trip to Toronto! What a great city! I miss it!

Nice Place
By Chris D, 3/19/06
Stayed there for the weekend. Really nice place. Stayed on the Serenity floor, but couldn't smell the ocean. No big deal. The Spa was excellent except for some scheduling glitches, but they gave us massages for free, so everything worked out for the better. Really close to the Eaton Centre and walking distance to a lot of things. Would stay there again.

wonderful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/06
I stayed at Pantages while my spouse had surgery at a nearby hospital...location was perfect...suite had absolutely everything to allow me to retire comfortably inside at the end of a long, stressful day. The turn down service was much appreciated, & the "pampering" I received ensured that I was in turn able to support my spouse to the fullest extent during his time of need. I would definitely recommend...staff were accomodating, friendly, yet respectful of my need for privacy.

Better than I could have hoped for!!
By Bo, 9/13/05
The Pantages Suites and Spa has everything you'd expect from an upscale metropolitan hotel: Excellent location, it's less than a city block from Eatons Center and fabulous Younge Street, as well as being near several restaurants, bars and nightlife. Gorgeous Views, the suites feature panoramic windows for tons of natural light and stunning city views on all sides. (the Penthouse suite I stayed in featured over 50 square feet of window space!) Suites feature natural hardwood floors or immaculate white carpeting, full European kitchens (featuring microwave, full sized-fridge w/mini-bar, toaster, stove-top, dishes, pots & pans, dishwasher, etc.) The maid service is excellent. The staff is very friendly, and they have an eye for every little detail. Privacy and security are a priority, you require a hotel key-card to access all accommodation floors. The Spa & water bar (featuring over 300 types of water, and expert sommeliers to recommend waters for your particular taste!) are exquisite, and the staff are happy to make the best of your experience. (Prices are also very competitive) From the time you walk into the lobby with it's upscale lounge atmosphere, until you enter your room, featuring either a Zen motif or that of a modern downtown condominium, you'll feel right at home. The larger suites are perfect for long business stays, I felt very at home for the 2 weeks I stayed there last. There is wireless & DSL internet in-room, as well as public computers in the lobby. (With curtains for your privacy while reading e-mail or sensitive documents) The mini-bar prices are very reasonable and feature very unique selections. 24 hour room service is available, and there is a Martini bar in the Lobby every evening. I've stayed in several of Toronto's upscale and boutique hotels, and this reasonably priced Spa & all Suites, beats them all hands-down. Barring some unforeseen circumstances, I can't imagine myself staying anywhere else in the GTA. There is honestly not a single thing I disliked about this hotel, I'd recommend it to anyone. Enjoy!
