Description

Sultanahmet Hotel Angel\'s Home is a first class boutique hotel in Istanbul. We are situated in a quiet location in the old city centre Sultanahmet, the perfect starting place to discover for your trip to Constantinople.Angel\'s Home Hotel was built in the beginning of the 20th century by Admiral Tafdil and his wife Melek (Angel), who gave her name to the house. In warm weather the forecourt is the perfect place for guests to relax with a good book, enjoy an aperitif surrounded by blooming flowers or just watch the world stroll by. The elegant, fetchingly furnished hotel lobby & lounge is a popular meeting place and a favorite spot to read the daily newspaper. The receptionist will also take your orders as part of our 24-hour room service or make transportation arrangements, if requested. All of our rooms are comfortable and spotless: each is individually decorated with great care and finesse to reflect the refined graces. Each room has air-conditioning/heating, mini bar, TV, translucent curtains as well as opaque drapes to keep out sunlight when you wish, fully tiled private bathroom with enclosed shower cabin, hair dryer, toilet, hot and cold water always available. Some of our rooms also have a balcony.A street nearby the house was also named after the Admiral. Angel\'s Home opened its doors as a boutique hotel in October 2003 after being restored to its original state and is run by the Duyar brothers.

I had the chance recently to be one of the Angels Home hotel guests I want to post my appreciation and thank to all hotel staff as they were very helpful and I appreciate their support and kindness and generosity. The hotel location is excellent, it’s very close to the most famous historical location in Istanbul a short walk from the Blue Mosque and the area is much quit, people are very helpful and kind. I had been in the 3 rooms apartment is very nice and much quite, close to the old Train and many markets are around. The Apartment is equipped by all kitchen equipment and washing machine and its ok for families One thing, I hope Hotel management applies some new paint and new furniture. Breakfast is very nice and I hope to apply some flowers in the tars it will be very nice views. Finally, I was very happy being one of the Angles Hotel guest and it had very good time. Thanks for Angle Hotel staff and management

So charming!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/10
For the first time we’ve visited Istanbul at January 2009 and stayed at Angel’s Home Hotel. We spent there 8 days with my sister. The hotel is really beautiful and it was no doubt to choose Angel’s Home for the second visit to Istanbul. And we stayed there again from 11 of January 2010 till 18 of January 2010. It was very pleasant that the receptionist recognized us and met us as his old friends. There are some useful and nice feachers wich make this hotel very attractive for travelers. Hotel situated in the best place for city trip organization. Many important and beautiful historical places (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace) are in 5 minutes walking, but no bus, no excursion group disturb your rest at hotel because hotel is situated in a very quiet place. All stuff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are not very big but always clean and nice. The view from the rooftop terrace is very nice. The breakfast included in room price is nice too. It’s traditional Turkish breakfast but it’s enough for everybody (hot soup, fresh vegetables etc). Wi-Fi is free. Room price is reasonable, it’s an exellent value for money. Angel’s Home Hotel become more and more attractive. For example, from this year transfer Hotel – Airport in comfortable shuttle-bus become free to everybody. We really enjoy our staying in Angel’s Home Hotel and recommend it to everybody, especially to city trip guests. Berg Dmitry, Berg Elena, Russia

Experienced enough to make sensible comparisons!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/09
We travel extensively and were delighted to have recently chosen to stay at the Angel’s Home Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and very well equipped with everything immaculately clean. In addition to this the staff are young, enthusiastic, extremely helpful and genuinely nice – in addition to this the included buffet breakfast is both good and extremely varied. It is interesting to see that the vast majority of reviews rate this hotel at a high average mark whereas a (very) few award exceedingly low marks. I can only think they were experiencing a very bad hair day (or week!) - just look at the AVERAGE star rating! We also really recommend the clever pay-in advance 20% discount scheme (and the free (Euros 10) airport shuttle) which provides an unmatchable value for money offer in such a prime site (literally two minutes from the Blue Mosque

Wonderful hotel! I Highly Recommend!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/10/09
My wife and I stayed here for 10 days in June '09 for a vacation. The staff was unbelievably helpful and cheerful. The room was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The bathroom, with jaccuzi, was all tile and spotless. The free breakfast was plentiful and fresh, starting every day on a positive note. The location is perfect for touring Istanbul, close to the Blue Mosque, the Haiga Sophia, the Grand Bazaar as well as the tram which connects to almost all major attractions, including the Spice Bazaar and the ferry docks. I recommend that you ask for restaurant recommendations away from the Sultanahmet area which is over-priced. Ask for restaurants where the locals eat. You will be pleased if you do. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel, especially for the staff.

Great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/11/09
My sister and I stayed for 4 nights in the old hotel. Staff was very friendly. The room a bit small, but very quiet (except for 5 o'clock in the morning with sounds from the mosque). We came back for 1 night - there was a bit of misunderstanding re the transport to the airport the next morning, but everything was solved in a very nice way. The restaurant was very good and the service excellent.

Excellent choice, it was wonderful.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/18/09
Everything as perfect. We must thanks again to our business partener because at my request he found for us this hotel. Everything was perfect, the viewing from the top of hotel, the room, the bathroom, the breakfast and special the people from this hotel and their restaurant. Unfortunately we come back in last November but only for few hours. Certainly for future visit we do not hesitate to choose the same hotel. Claudia and Ion

please dont go there
By gokhan akdeniz, 11/6/08
Please do not stay at this hotel. Me and my wife stayed there in May, 2007, and they are nice, only because they want to sell something to you. My experience of this hotel: first they found me a tour guide, and I spent my first day at historical places. The next day they told me that they have a family shop and they pushed me and sold me a machine made Chinese rug and said it was a Turkish handmade rug. I bought the carpet over $6000 and when I came to the US I took the carpet to expert and they told me my carpet is only $500 at Ikea. The hotel is also not that clean. On the internet they have nice pictures of their suites, but the rooms they rent are not the rooms they show on the website. They don't have a hottub. The breakfast is the same every day. As an American, I recommend to everyone who is American that they stay away from this tiny old building. Try to stay at an American hotel. You will pay the same amount of money at the Hilton or Hyatt or others. Thank you and have a good day.
