W Montreal, Montreal

My boyfriend and I were there for 2 nights in September 2008. We requested Wall Street Journal to be delivered to our room but it seemed that the receptionist had forgotten our request. We loaned a Blackberry charger and a deposit was made. We returned the charger when we checked out but no credit was made to our invoice. The staff at concierge was inexperienced. They do not seem to know what's around the area when we asked them for information for a quick bite. Otherwise the Fantastic Suite we were at was nice. It has see-thru shower (be really careful of the sharp corner of the sink unit especially when part of it was covered by the curtain) and nice sinks but we do not like the fact that there isn't much privacy with the toilet. The bathroom takes up a lot of space so the suite is not as big as we anticipated. The lounge has great music. Service staff/doormen were very nice and courteous. It seemed to me that the staff at reception could not communicate well or do not understand English.

The location is close to downtown and the conference center, but just a little off the beaten path. The restaurant was amazing. The service was amazing. The bars are all great (try to get into the hot one on a weekend: velvet rope, standing room only). The rooms are spacious and clean and the design is very sexy.The beds are a dream. I have a hard time imagining how this hotel could be better. The only thing missing is a swimming pool.

Didn't stay at the hotel but did party at the bar. All sofas are reserved for bottle service so get ready to stand all night. That's not a big deal if you love to dance because the DJ was amazing. Also, if you enjoy your alcohol....bring LOTS of cash, the drinks are pretty pricey. Sounds like a negative review....NO WAY......had the best time here. Next time in Montreal I will definately return to the Wunderbar.

The W Montreal sets a new standard for hotels in the city. Catering mostly to a younger clientele, the W Montreal boasts an awesome ambiance, a truly amazing Wunderbar, young, energetic and attentive staff, and extremely comfortable rooms. The atmosphere alone makes the W Montreal a definite place to stay while in the city. Definitely not for families or those looking for "traditional" hotels, the W Montreal is at the top of my list when I visit the city. I wouldn't eat at the hotel restaurtant (Otto) though. The food is good but in a city like Montreal, it would be much better to try out the local cuisine, either in Old Montreal or if you have a car, a short drive away on the Plateau.

This is an fun hotel. The service is very attentive and the inside design is very trendy. Rooms are a little small but it serves its purpose. The beds are extremely comfortable. The shower design/layout for our room is quite interesting since the bedroom and Shower room is separated by a blue tinted glass wall. And the mood lights from the end tables are a nice touch. Hotel is about a 10 min. walk to Old Montreal or St. Catherine St. Would definitely go back.
