Description

The Hotel Skt Petri does not want simply to provide accommodation for their guests, but, to provide an enjoyable experience. The hotel location makes us if anything a city hotel. Finally, this is a hotel, situated in Denmark, which, for the guests is synonymous with hospitality, broadmindedness, and a friendly atmosphere. This hotel always wants to give its guests a unique experience; a surprising though well thought out experience, and a unique though thoroughly tested one. This is a hotel that stimulates the senses, lifts the spirit, provokes, and entertains.

Underwhelming hotel...... Skt on by
By ,
Okay, so Hotel Skt Petri is a some-what stylish hotel....only if you are from a 1980's time warp. Our total hotel experience was remarkably underwhelming for the new millennium. We asked for their "Large Room" us$467, but truthfully it was actually quite small, and appeared to be the same size as the picture of their "Small Room"@ us$389 on their website. Only 1 chair to sit on unless you count the pleather bench at the foot of the bed. Room felt cheap Ikea minimalistic, not chic. Creaking wood floors, laminated grey head-board and a worn wood table didn't help make the polyester faux down quilt, scratchy linens and sad sack pillows feel any better. Could really use a throw rug to help muffle the creaky floor sounds or provide warmth to the cold little toesies. The bathroom tile had black mold growing around the edges of the tub and with no shower enclosure the whole contents of the bathroom became soaked if you took a shower standing in the tub. The elevator was constantly breaking down. One day the lobby was filled with a large trade show featuring bathroom fixtures in the lobby. Was glad our room was away from the center elevator atrium as the lobby acoustics are very very unforgiving. Besides the run down appearance through out the hotel they need to increase the blase staff body count and give them serious hospitality training. Sure they can muster up a polite smile if you track the down, but can they follow through? The answer is NO. The young front desk staff seems quite clueless. Our last evening we ordered a car for our very early morning drive to the airport, but ....no car in the morning. We tried to have b'fast at the ground floor Cafe Petri. It was desolate with the exception of one other customer. But all 3 of us were ignored by the staff of 2. Sure they pointed us to a chair where we could sit, but never bothered to bring a menu, a napkin or to even ask for our order. We left after 10 minutes of waiting..... but some how the B'fast charge appeared on our hotel bill. Thankfully they took it off when we checked out. Even the main dining room on the second level seemed pretty lonely. There was no drink or food service on the huge outside patio area despite all the lounging chairs, but some how lots of dirty glasses were left laying around. We ended up going next door to the lively Dalle Valle cafe for much better service and their lively street scene. Was really surprised the room price was so high for such a major disappointment. Design Hotels would do well to reconsider this addition to their stable of chic hotels. Next time it's the Nimb Hotel for me.

The best hotel in Copenhagen
By ,
If you like modern Scandinavian design, THIS is the place to stay. It is Copenhagen's only Design Hotel. Also in a great location, it is only blocks from Strøget, and anywhere you'd want to be. You shouldn't need a cab. Also, it is just a two minute walk from the Nørreport metro station which you can take all the way from the airport. If you wanna explore outside the immediate downtown, rent one of the city's free bicycles. The front desk is very helpful and will help you with anything you need.

Centrally-located; great for shopping
By ,
The staff were fabulous --happy to accommodate all our requests. We had asked for a reservation at a popular restaurant on a Saturday night; the concierge was unable to get us a table but called several other restaurants at his own initiative and booked us into a wonderful place with great atmosphere and food. Our room was below the gym and, when we complained of the noise, we were immediately upgraded to a better room. Close to the main shopping street and within walking distance of all major attractions and many great restaurants. We would definitely go back.

Staff has a lot to catch up on service!
By ,
We had pre-booked a baby-cot, and it was promised to be in our room at check in. It was not, and we had to ask twice before it arrived. The music during sunday breakfast was far to loud, and the staff said it was impossible to reduce. The waiting staff behaved like grumpy teenagers. Room service came disturbing us all the time, but we did not get the only thong we needed from them, the baby cot. The location and decoration is perfect if you like contemporary design, but really I expect a higher quality in staff and service for this a hotel in this range.

Great Hotel - Very Modern
By ,
This was my first trip to Copenhagen and this hotel was phenomenal. Very much like the W Hotel in the US. I would go back in a minute!

Like a railway station...
By ,
Ever been in a Formula 1 Hotel ? Well, here you find less room to hang your clothes: just a pair of little shelves, a few hangers... Be prepared to keep most of your clothes in your case. There isn't any fitness room or similar facilities. In the evening you can enjoy a lively pub with loud music and very goog looking young people. But if you want to sleep and you are in the wing near above it... For a very high price, I experienced very cheap ways to save (the hotel's) money: shampoo not replaced in three days, no slippers. While you enjoy a trivial breakfast (20 !) keep note of their number, so that they charge you only those you took. And the pleasure of my staying still lasts: now I find out that they charged my wife's credit card (who never signed it). As soon as I get my reporto I will find whether they charged mine too, as they should since I signed the bill and they slipped my credit card. It is hard to find twice the same person at the reception. Good luck to the new guests!

First real nice modern hotel I have been to: stylish and elegant (as opposed tp Copenhagen Radisson other side of river which is good example of how things can get out of control...)

Can't wait to go back
By ,
The hotel is located at the center of Copenhagen in walking distance to great restaurants, bars and coffe shops. The hotel atmosphere is nice and relaxing and the hotel is delicately furnished with state of the art designer furniture. A really beautiful hotel. The hotel restaurant and cafe serves excellent food at affordable prices.
