5 reviews for Arapahoe Inn, Keystone
AWFUL
By Alan, 03/10/09
DO NOT STAY HERE. THE MANAGER IS A COMPLETELY HORRIBLE PERSON, A TERRIBLE MANAGER, AN ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PERSON TO DEAL WITH. I wouldn't stay here for FREE. I watched the manager, a man named Tom, treat other customers very rudely. When I went to check in he refused me service despite my reservation. The website (hotels.com) as well as the website of the hotel (arapahoeinn.com) allowed for pets. I indicated, in accordance with their rudely-posted front desk signs, that I had a dog and the manager became exceptionally EXCEPTIONALLY rude. He told me that I would not be staying at his establishment and when I asked if there was any way that my party and I could stay there he yelled at me. He refused to let me speak to his manager, refused to tell me if he was the manager and told me that he was calling the police. He yelled at me some more and told me that unless I wanted to get arrested I needed to leave right away. There was another customer there who was looking at the entire episode with shock and disbelief. I left and immediately called hotels.com and had to find another hotel to stay at for the night. When I called the hotel later in the week to speak with the manager another rude person answered the phone and claimed that there was no owner, that the inn was owned by a corporation. When I asked for the contact information for the corporation he told me that actually he was the owner. I cant believe this place is still in business. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there and I wouldnt ever dream of staying there.

Beware!!!
By todaywait, 12/24/08
I rented a room for one night at Arapohoe Inn, Dec 20, 2008. It was a horrible experience!!! What was the most surprising is how 3 days afterwards they charged an additional 50.00 on my credit card, stating that I smoked in the room. I called to speak with them and they were unpleasant and said they believed their maids, although I asked them if there were cigarette butts, or ashes in the room. They couldn't answer that, however said it smelled like smoke. When I rented the room, I was well aware of their policy and smoked outside only in the cold at all hours of the night. Not once did I smoke in their room!!! As I did not want to incur additional charges. If I had known they were going to rip me off, with their bogus accusations, I would have not made the effort to smoke outside!!! Especially in such cold weather!!! I tried to explain this to them, and gave details of where I was outside and how I propped open the back door to insure that I would have access back in the room at 4 in the morning. They were rude, and said they were not going to discuss it anymore with me and hung up the phone!!! Smokers beware!! Even if you don't smoke in their room, they will charge you for smelling like cigarettes!!! The commode didn't flush properly either and ran throughout the night! I don't recommend this place at all. The person on the phone initially said he was the owner, but then avoided my questionining him again on whether he was the owner or not and hung up the phone!!!! Never again!!! Please beware!!! I should have read other reviews and would had be forewarned about their rudeness!!! Pay the extra money and go somewhere else!

Never Stay Here
By Sean-Francis, 12/12/08
We read all the bad reviews the Arapahoe Inn got online and said to ourselves, "How bad can it really be?" Trust me, it's as bad as everyone says. We tried to check in at 345 and were told to leave and come back because check in was at 4. We left and came back and ended up not being able to check in until after 8. Once we checked in we realized what a terrible mistake we had made and rented a condo down the road. It was well worth the extra money to pay for these room as well as the condo. The management literaly frightened the girls so much they were afraid to stay. They were angry, unhelpful and downright frightening. Try calling Vail Reservations instead. If you can't find anything else in Keystone, go to another town - don't stay here.

We can't ever go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/08
The mgmt. was rude, unhelpful and stingy with basic items needed. The toilet overflowed, but they didn't disinfect the floor, (they mopped it up with only water). That's a health code violation. The microwave didn't work (last yr either), there's no iron and mgmt. is nice UNTIL you pay your bill, then rude afterewards. (And we were repeat customers, too!) The Best Western in nearby towns is cheaper and better due to a clean pool, treated hot tub and mgmt that LISTENS and CORRECTS problems immediately. They will get our business-we gave Arapahoe three chances (2006, 07, 08) and they failed every time! Sometimes cheaper is just not worth it. The Inn of Arapahoe has been steadily declining in appearance and value every year. I could not even go to the bathroom in our rm. since mgmt. wouldn't get a plumber or move us. I deserve reimbursement for that day and a half that we were without a toilet. Mgmt. refuses to discuss it and hangs up on us when we call them. Shame on them. The bed sheets look dirty and the towels are scratchy, holey and stiff. I am not spoiled, but I do expect more than the slum-like attitude and atmosphere of Inn of Arapahoe. It's a veritable dump and not fit for decent people. A pity they can stay in business with such a deplorable record and sad for the unsuspecting guests they'll receive in the future. My sympathies to those unfortunate people. After putting up with this place for 3 spring breaks-we are through with second chances and want to prevent others from going through what we did. Our children are upset that they had to go to another business in the middle of the night to use another toilet. My husband and I were disgusted at the lack of help with this basic right to a working toilet in our paid room. Mgmt. even hung up on us when we had to call about the toilet backing up a second time. This is an honest to God review and it is given to warn others of what to expect if they come to Arapahoe. It isn't as cheap as Best Western, but cheap enough that people will stay there-but I guarantee they'll be very disappointed, like us. I am very sad to have to give this poor review-but my principles demand an accounting of outright wrongs such as these to be announced when the circumstances warrant it.

Don't expect anything extra!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/08
We stayed here 4 nights and couldn't wait to leave. The room was clean enough, but the bed was very uncomfortable, the pillows were tiny, you could see through the towels. You could,t get extra pillows, towels or blankets. There was only coffee from 7:30-9:30 am, same with the juice machine, no milk and frozen waffles and bread, that is it!!! No coffee in the rooms (they did provide instant coffee that had been expired since 9/07!) For 100.00 a night in Keystone, we should have known better. The hot tub is only open from 4:00-10:00pm, and you better not loss your key because there is never anyone at the front desk to help you.
