Regency Downtown Hotel, Columbia

I hated the service....the front desk person (Melissa) was very rude and disrespectful to the guest checking in and out! First of all she did not greet us with a smile or a hello, just a weak "may I help you" then after we checked in, she did not offer us a receipt nor did she tell us the amount of the charge she putting on our credit/debit card, she did not tell us about the policy that if you use a debit card at check in you will be charged the full amount. Then when we asked for a receipt she just printed it and handed it to us with out saying a word...neither did she say enjoy your stay. I asked about the manager and she said they are not here but will be here later....The rooms sucked! the beds and matteress are old and dirty. Sheets were stained and they only have house keeping once a week. The only good thing was shower and the fact that they had a microwave and Fridge in the room. DO NOT STAY HERE no matter how cheap...because this is a hourly Motel that they tryed to turn into a hotel, but with no customer service and awful sleeping arrangements.

This hotel is poor quality from the parking lot all the way up to your room. I would recommend sleeping in your car over this hotel. I saw the police make patorls of the hallways and the parking lot. There is nothing positive about this hotel, find some where else to stay!

I was out in a business trip for 13 days and checked in and out from 9 hotels but Regency Hotel Downtown was the worst experience ever. The rooms stink. Dust everywhere. I had no service the next day. The blankets are old. Carpet is disgusting. I will contact them to have my money back for sure. I did not complain on spot because I had other bosses with me that shared the same thoughts as me. Bottom line stay away.

Musty, very musty, mattress & box springs were stained. carpet old & nasty. electrical outlets did not hold plug. refrigerator froze our drinks. room was too cold with air on & too hot without.Elevator did not work. Pushed 3 & went to basement. Nasty. Location ok. Only thing it has going for it. Should be condemed. We had fun laughing about how bad it was.

We got there and the room wasnt smoke free when it was suppose to be. the bathroom ceiling was falling down. the sheets had stains all over them. the appliances were old and didnt really work all to well. We asked for a full refund and they took forever to get it to us. Don't bring your kids here. We had a prostitute standing on the corner of the hotel. We will never go back!!!

location was great, room was average nothing fancy, service was poor there were a drunk couple in the next room slamming the door and running down the halls yelling and the front desk was not interested in resolving the matter when I called them at 0130 in the morning.

We where not very happy because under one of the beds was a Tampon. The service was not helpful. I could not find room service so I went downstairs to the lobby to get what I needed. For sure we are not coming back.

Its a very old place; the appliances are old, the beds are not very comfortable, the tubs & showerheads need work... and the fronts of the rooms are all windows with curtains in front of them. It was somewhat quiet (except that you can hear people in the hallways quite well) but the service sucked and I can't say it was all too clean either. The room was clean; but the hallways & elevator weren't. I was there a year ago and it only cost me 40 bucks if I remember right so I really can't complain much. If I got a deal like that again, I'd go back; but I just checked and their rates this weekend are 135/night!! They raised their rates for the football game. How nice... I'd rather drive 10 or 15 miles than pay that amount for the location in that hotel.
