Quality Inn Pismo Beach, Pismo Beach

These guys are rip off artists. I arrive at the hotel early at 1PM and room isnt ready. Im in the lobby seeing if I can do an early check in at 1PM. The clerk is telling another person they are sold out. He tells me I cant but he tells me what room I am in. I walk down to the room since its open and see its a filthy mess, as in dark streaks on the carpet like they havent been cleaned in a year. The rooms are not queen beds, they are barely larger than a twin bed, and they are very small rooms. I go back to the front desk and cancel my reservation. I am told they will try to sell my room and it goes to 4am the next morning. I drive to a neighboring hotel 1 block away,they are sold out. The next hotel I go to has a room available but also are sold out late afternoon. I call back to the Quality Inn that evening and the clerk says they are sold out. They charged my credit card 150.00,say they werent sold out that night.I spend a week of non returned phone calls with we will look into it. On the phone I am told tough since I signed in( never happened) then story changes that it wasnt important anyhow ( lucky I wasnt charged for the soap, towels,etc) These guys are con artists, stay away its a dump anyhow. I will never stay again at any of the hotels that are part of their chain. The rest of the hotels on my trip were very nice and fairly priced.

We made reservations for three room, for a Saturday night. We arrived, and were told that the motel only had two of the three rooms we reserved (we reserved them one month prior to arriving)! The motel was booked full, and there was no way they could help us! I showed my printed copy of the reservation, for THREE rooms, and was told, 'We only have TWO'. NOW, the best part, I wanted to make sure I wasn't charged for the two rooms, because I had to look elsewhere. I was told I couldn't have my money back, (Our Policy), even though I couldn't use the rooms do to thier error! I HAD TO STAND IN THE LOBBY AND SELL THE TWO ROOMS TO LATE ARRIVERS!! Never stay at a Quality Inn anywhere.

The man working front desk was wonderful and knew what he was doing. The tubs in the rooms did not seem to be cleaned very well but rest of room was good. location was great, could walk to near by mall area and resturants. great deal for the price. My favorite part with the hot tub, it was wonderful and had a waterfall!

Broken shower, hollow walls, noisy, cheesey remodel. You get what you pay for.

We always liked the location. The hotel is only about 2 miles from Grover Beach and Pismo Pier. Good center point. Our previous visit was in Dec/Jan 2008. We found the hotel below par. There was lot of work going on at that time so we decided to check out early and stay at one of the Best Westerns. This year, when we went back, all renovations appear to be complete, so we decided to give it one more chance. We found that the hotel, room and staff exceeded our expectations. The hotel seem to be completely renovated. It was very clean and comfortable. THey even started providing breakfast and free hi-spped internet access. And unbelievably, prices have not increased as much as I thought it would have. Great value. We will definately start going there again.

What we liked: Very clean (inside & out), Well equipped rooms (fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee), great beds, Good staff. What we feel can be improved: More TV channels, perhaps evening cookies & milk. Rooms were a little smaller then normal (I think) but not much be done about that.

First off, we made a reservation online...when we got there they said they didn't have it and charged us again (even though we had a receipt) the people who worked there were very VERY rude, some kids that "worked" there through a party in the room right next to ours all night even though we called the front desk repeatedly and they only did something once we threatened to call the police. I should have been suspicious when we were the only guests staying at the hotel! As for cleanliness....there was hair all over the place, dog hair all over the bed, very disgusting.

I called and reserved a room for Saturday night for 2 adults and 1 child - the price that I was quoted for $75.00 + tax - I reserved this room with a credit card - upon checking in I ask for a receipt - I was told that I would get it upon checkout. When I got the final charges they were for almost $100.00 - I ask the clerk why I was quoted one price and charged another - he comment was "well we just remodeled - Are they cheating their guest to pay for this remodel? He finally said that he would recharge my credit the correct price. - What he did was give me a credit for a bad night stay - He was most rude and very unfriendly. I did not have a bad stay I was cheated on the price that I had to pay. Never will stay there again.

My family came up here for the weekend and rented 2 rooms for 1 Saturday night... they charged us $240 for each room, for 1 night! We could've stayed in at least a 3 star hotel for that price! On top of that, there were no trash cans, no TV channels, not enough towels, and no parking! There parking lot was a mess...dirt & trash everywhere! Never again!

I formerly stayed here on 4 or 5 occasions, for the outage work at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant. When I stay for the outages, it is for 6 to 8 weeks. I always regarded this place as old and dilapidated, but enjoyed the quick freeway access, the fridge and microwave, and the jaccusi with the "waterfalls". The windows frequently had no locks, and when requested, they would give me .25c thumb screw locks. I NEVER would leave anything in the room, that would give me replacement hassle. When you leave the room, the lock you'll use is not a deadbolt, but the common lock your home doorknob has. If you are inside the room, and only then, can the deadbolt be activated. If you are on the north facing side, the back of the motel, your view will be of a junkyard, RV storage area....immediately below you! Yet I put up with this...NO MORE!!!! I made telephone reservations for the outage March 4,2007. They FORGOT to mention that the jaccusi, and pool area were closed for construction. FORGOT to tell me the entire pool area, lounges and tables were closed, with construction junk in plain, open, complete eyesore view. FORGOT to tell me that the ENTIRE north section was having major construction being done. FORGOT to inform that the construction contractors would be leaving their garbage ALL OVER THE north walk ways. Most importantly, they FORGOT to inform me that the ENTIRE phone system could only receive calls, and that the phones would not call outside of the motel!!!!! I was greeted by the worst stained carpet of my life, I travel alot, and have NEVER stayed in ANY motel with carpet this filthy. No decent business would regard this carpet in my room as being fit for anything other than use in a workshop. The bathroom light fixture, having the bulb dangling thru the ceiling, with no facia covering for the fixture, the shower head protruded thru a square cut hole in the drywall, again, no facia covering. The sink had no drain stop, and five cigarette holes were burned into the bed spread!!! In spite of all this, they charged me the "Diablo outage rate" of "only" $40.00/night. And had the balls to tell me that the charge to others would be the regular rate of $50.00!!! For $25.00, I might have stayed. After 2 nights, I left for another hotel, which was newly renovated, and charged me the same $40.00. Do you wish to stay here? I used to... and won't again.
