Relaxed place, beautiful house, friendly village

After travelling the past 6 years often in Thailand it was great to stay in a very relaxed homey place in a village away from the city and tourist area's with only Thai people around me. So the location of 20 km from Khon Kaen city is fine if you look for this kind of experience. And if you want to go to the city: the minibus stops in front of the guesthouse.
Downstairs the family lives and the all teakwood upstairs is for guests. My airco room was very clean and guests can also use of the living room. The bathroom is downstairs but that didn't bother me since the rate was only 400 Baht.
The mini guesthouse serves great Thai food and I enjoyed walking in the village and surrounding fields, renting a bicycle, going to local markets and play games with the neighbours. I even helped to plant some rice on the family's land!
The friendly owner is trained in Thai massage, can teach you how to cook green curry or hot and spicy soup and serve as your guide. She speaks sufficient English and understood me .... well ... most of the time anyway.
The evenings were a little quiet but there are books to read, internet to use and a dvd collection to choose from. One night I slept on the balcony under a mosquito net: it was great!
