Disappointed
For the record, Wingate inn hotel in Stafford, Va. has a friendly staff, and comfortable accommodation within the Quantico and Stafford area. As a Marine, receiving receipts from hotels is important. When I didn't receive one prior to my departure, the flags should have went up then, but it happened before, so this time I didn't think it wouldn't be a problem. The hotel assure me they'd eMail it to me, since I couldn't stick around with a flight to catch out of Reagan. When I return to Japan to complete my DTS voucher, I'd notice no eMail, let alone a receipt. This was the 5 Oct, 2009. So I call the hotel to reconcile my receipt, no history of me ever staying there. I called my credit card company and discovered a charge had been applied to my citibank visa. I then called back the following day and spoke to another person at the front desk to look up info with the confirmation number I'd given him. Not only did he find my reservations, but he also discovered that my credit card was billed to me, but I was listed as someone else. How's this possible? This was the 7 and 8th of October, 2009. For you military types, be advise, you have 3 days to settle your DTS voucher, and we're going on day 4 here. All I keep asking for from the hotel was a copy of my receipt. Then I called the manager voice mail, left message, no reply. I then called back the 11, 13, and 15 after Anna Bright and other members of her staff were suppose to eMail me. To no avail. I then called corporate to file a complaint, then I discovered that Wingate Inn are independently owned and operated. Today is 18th of Oct, still no receipt. I have notified my fiscal and handlers of DTS of my situation, and still no reciept. If you decide to stay here, be advise of the potential unprofessionalism of the management with lack of customer service in rendering a solution to problems after the sale. I travel to the Quantico and D.C. areas quite often, I will never stay at this hotel again.
