Homewood Suites By Hilton Amarillo, TX, Amarillo

recently stayed there last week while my mom was having some surgery we're an hour aaway and did not want to drive back and forth so we booked a king suite one huge king size bed with a private room, living room some what small but had aqueen fold out couch. the next room had two queen size beds. but they did not offer any ice or was there an ice machine on any floors. When asked they handed you a bag of ice not nearly enough to serve all the guests that we're in that one room. Very true we did have an ice maker in the room but it was turned off until we had to turn it on but did not make ice. the POol was great, but to get in to the motel was not so good not to many door ways and not enough elevators felt like you kept on walking and walking

We drove around the entire building trying to find the entrance--it is ot handicap accessible. The front desk attendants unfriendly. The room was nice the accommodations okay but whe going outside to retrieve something out of my car..the environmental smell is like raw sewage! (whew!) -- We will never stay here again -- but this is not an indictment against the entire chain....I've stayed at many throughout Texas and they are really nice and accommodating..but this one -- LEAVE IT ALONE! The management and staff need to be replaced!

The suite was comfortable, clean, had all the comforts we needed. However, when headed for bed, I tossed an turned all night.

We paid $200 a night for the 2 bedroom suite and it was very cheap. The flooring was a cheap linoleum that squeaked when you walked. The furniture was either used or very cheap with lots of dings/scuffed up. There are no ice machines and when I asked for some ice, I was given a small bag of ice. They said they don't put ice machines in because each room has refridgerators. But the ice makers are turned off when you get in the room and I turned them on but when we checked out the next morning it still had not made one cube of ice. This appears to be a brand new Homewood Suites but it was cheaply built. I just spent a week at in a 2 br suite in Albuquerque and it was very nice and classy. the Amarillo site does not meet the standards that I am used to when staying with them.

Came away with numerous bed bug bites in handicap accessible room; sheets also in general did not look clean; disgusting! Clock no where in room and only one T.V. remote in a two-room handicap accessible suite. Decor was nice but cleanliness of beds was the main concern.

Entry made into my room while gone for the day. Lap top computer taken from roomv along with battery and a phone charger. Computer bag left behind, (easier to hide in the dirty towels). Only entery was made by personnel - did not compensate although the computer key showed employees entering my room on (2) occassions.

Nice hotel, incredibly rude staff. I needed to cancel my reservation the night before my stay, and they refused to do it, saying I would be charged for the night anyway. Nice way to treat a Hilton Diamond Member!

Our stay was very pleasant though short. This is a 1st. class establishment. Especially for the price. The hot breakfast was very good. The rooms were very stylish, cozy and clean.

Everything you need in a hotel. Most importantly, the hotel is run by professionals who think of everything to make sure you are satisfied. Many expensive hotels could learn how to appreciate their customers by learning from this staff. Great rooms, good food for breakfast, a happy hour, cookies at the front desk, High Speed internet. What else do you need?

We had the opportunity to stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Amarillo last year, and I can say that it was probably one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for the price range. My husband and I are residents of Amarillo, and when our house was being renovated we shopped around for a place to call home. The Homewood Suites blew me away when we first walked into the lobby. The luxurious decor and the warm, homey atmosphere were just what I needed to make me feel more at home. When we got to the suite, I felt like a princess with all of the amenities that this place had. In addition to being asthetically appealing, each suite had everything we needed to make our 2 week "non-vacation" stay very nice. If we didn't already live here, we'd stay there all the time!
