Microtel Inn and Suites Baguio City, Baguio City

we stayd der last feb 08 panagbenga..the staff were polite and friendly..the room was clean and nice and very peaceful..and we r planning to go back in baguio with my bf on may 09 and of course microtel is the nice hotel to stay in again..XD

I liked this hotel. It falls short of what you might expect of a Microtel in the U.S. But keep in mind: this hotel is in NOT in the USA. And please DON'T hold that against these wonderful people. I liked: - the helpful, very very friendly staff - comfortable bed - the clean, well-equipped room - the location of the hotel in Baguio. It's wonderful. Great access to eating places, shopping, and transportation. Could use some improvement: - hot water availability: Take your shower fast IF there is hot water, because it will disappear quickly! (from my own experience). - internet connection. No direct access. And while wireless was "available" , it is not free, and while I was staying at this hotel there was NO access to it. The front desk was out of wireless access cards. - the breakfast (it was minimal; few choices considering the way-above-average price paid for the stay). On the other hand, what they offered was very good. Overall, I recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had a great stay at Microtel Inn and Suites in Baguio City. Following are the reasons why we enjoyed our stay in this hotel: 1) Their staff are very friendly and accommodating, from the guard to the front desk to belhops and housekeeping. 2) A picture-perfect facade. I like their country-style exteriors and the trees that adorned it. 3) A homey and cozy lobby. Their lobby is complete with 2 sets of sofa, tv, stereo component, tables and chairs, a small fireplace, nice furnishings and decors. You can also surf the net with your laptop with their wifi connection (for a fee) in the lobby. 4) Freshly-brewed coffee available to hotel guests 24 hours a day. As well as the free drinking water and ice. Plus the continental breakfast served every morning. 5) Very clean room and comfy bed. Although the room is quite small as compared to other hotels, we love it because of its nice and simple interiors and furnishings, its cleanliness and its chiropractic approved mattress which is sooo comfortable. 6) Its convenience to Victory Liner passengers since they have a connecting passage to the terminal. 7) Its accessibility to the SM Mall and Session road without the pollution and noise of Session road hotels. We will defintely come back here. Highly recommended.

Along the 32-kilometer highway are the Bridal Veil and Colorado waterfalls. Synonymous with Baguio is Burnham Park. Located in the heart of the city, the park's features include a man-made lagoon ideal for boat rides, a skating rink, an athletic field and stadium, basketball and tennis courts, a biking zone, tree-and-flower lined promenades, and a plant market. A popular golfing destination, the city takes pride in its Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay. What used to be the rest-and-recreation base of American military personnel, the Camp is being transformed into a world-class resort and is also Baguio's biggest pine tree conservation area. Its newly refurbished 18-hole golf course rivals that of the Country Club which has pretty garden-patched cottages surrounding its fairways. Ornate iron gates open to the Mansion House, the official summer residence of Philippine presidents. It offers tourists with great photo opportunities with its rectangular reflecting pool along a tree-lined walkway. It also houses a museum of presidential memorabilia. Near the Mansion House is Wright Park where neophyte riders can trot around an oval track guided by trainers who lead horses with a hand-held leash. At the Mines View Park, tourists can have a panoramic view of the old mines of Benguet. At the park entrance is a flea market for souvenir items. Sitting on top of a hill in Upper Session Road is the twin-spire Baguio Cathedral, a city landmark. Another pilgrimage site is the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes which sits on top of Dominican Hill. Devotees prefer to climb the 252-step ascent than drive through a winding road to reach the shrine. Bell Church holds a religious service of mixed Buddhist, Taoist, Confucian and Christian dogmas but tourists come here to have their fortunes told. Located on an elevated pine-forested ground is the Philippine Military Academy, the country's foremost military learning institution. Its Saturday morning Parade in Review by cadets in full regalia never fails to attract visitors. Also within campus is a Military Museum. A cultural haven established by noted Baguio artist BenCab, Tam-awan Village recreates a typical ethnic village in the Cordilleras with authentic tribal homes uprooted from their original locations and re-set on similar terrain. There is also an art gallery-cum-coffee shop.

The hotel was ok in terms of cleanliness and "freshness". we stayed towards the Christmas season and i noticed the very nice natural decors dotting every corner of the hotel..as u enter the lobby, ur heart is warmed by the smell of authentic Benguet coffee-brewing constantly for the hotel guests. However, my daughter and I hated the complimentary breakfast and the ceremonies that go with it... the food-everything was greasy and cold- like the eggs..u cant even eat it because it has hardened! It was like they just "Had to serve it, so its over and done with..." And the waiters!!!! they carry with them a sort of list and ask u each morning-as u get ur breakfast-wat room number u stay in... By the way, this isnt a give-away thing- it is part of hotel rates one pays for.

The location is very ideal if you want to walk around Baguio's main streets. SM and Session Road are just a few corners away...definitely walking distance. Its being right beside the Victory Liner terminal is a bonus as well especially for commuters. We stayed only for 2 days and one night but we enjoyed every minute. The staff were friendly - from the security guard to the front desk clerks and the bellhops - and over-all ambience of the hotel was homy. The fact that it was almost right in the heart of the city did not take away the countryside ambience. The hotel had a serene air about it - almost felt like home.

NOTHING FOR DISLIKE BUT DEFFINITELY I LIKE THIS PLACE AND AM SURE OF COMING BACK HERE AGAIN.THE SERVICES ARE VERY ACCOMODATING THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN AND VERY CONVINIENT FOR TRA- VELLERS LIKE ME.KEEP UP

sorry but i expect from a hotel this catregory and price class a littel more to check in a room was ok just that i wanted to stay in the 4th floor made the price nearly double for the same room. aswell i understand im not in the us or europe but at least i allso expect a regular standard breakfast and not just 4 differnt items like rice, fried egg,sausages and bananas even to take the breakfst in the main hall is not wat i think this hotel will rate high aswell the personal on the reception could be a bit more flexible

Want to know why the hotel is named Microtel, because of its "small rooms". From the outside of the hotel, it looked nice, but the room was just too small for the big amount of bucks i had to pay.

I stayed at here for 3 months in 2004 and again for 8 days in March 05. It was like coming home. Everyone was wonderful, the rooms are spotless and the service beyond excellent. When was the last time you stayed at a hotel or motel, shed tears when leaving, and once gone, missed the staff on a personal level? Whether your stay is one day or one week or one month, everyone becomes family, buffered with a professional respect for their guests. Enjoy your visit.
