Cant wait to take the children & friends!

I liked the place very much. My husband and I went alone for one week. We went mid May. The place was not crowded which I loved. Upon arrival I was greeted with a cock tail & got my room right away. The managers in the restaraunts & staff were very accomodating. I like how they have family sleeping quaters separated from couples. We tried all the restaurants; the french, spanish, &mexican were our favorites. The one thing that I did not like was how my daughter was treated, when she was trying to contact me one morning; the front desk attendant was rude & kept hanging up on her. She did not speak spanish & he didnt speak english. When I went to complain, I made it clear that my children would be calling everyday & that I expected them to treat my children right. The problem was solved. Also dealing with the smokers on certain eating areas was a down side for me. I do have to say that speaking spanish made the trip a positive experience. Also, treating the staff in a friendly way helps, even if you cant communicate verbally.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the week I just spent at this fabulous resort!!! I was there from Mon 1/9 to Sun 1/15 and truly had the best time of my life.The resort staff are all wonderful and so eager to help in any way they can. You truly 'want" for nothing. The beach is divine and don't worry about ever running out of towels!!! And the pools are just as luxurious!You simply can't run out of things to do here... whether it's shopping in the stores, playing games at the casino, dancing in the disco, playing golf, or just lounging around the pools and beach... there's so much going on. Plus there's always the eveing showing at the theatre and all the beach activities... water polo, aerobics, dance lessons, bingo. I can't imagine how we fit it all in! :)The Italian and Japanese restaurants were delectable!!! And the many, many other restaurants and bars were just as great... with the Sports Bar offering food 24 hours a day.I went down with 8 people... and not one of us had a bad thing to say about the trip!!! Pretty hard to come by!!!We even took a day trip to another resort to see what it was like, and I can truly tell you it didn't come close to comparing with the Barcelo Bavaro Palaxe Deluxe!!!We were all so pleased... and are looking forward to going back again next year!!!

DO NOT STAY AT BARCELO BAVARO PALACE DELUXE!

From poor customer service, to delays in checking in and out of the hotel, to incredible apathy on the part of some staff as well as their lack of speaking and comprehending English - your stay at Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe could be a hassle and a huge disappointment, to say the least. The sheer grandeur and the architecture of the hotel complex makes a great impression at first. However it becomes painfully obvious right away that looks are deceiving. Delays at checking in. Many staff seem to not understand the meaning of "good customer service" at all. They expect to be tipped all the time, yet they do not deliver quality service. Bellboys who wreak (no joke) of cheap alcohol as they take your suitcases to your room. One gift shop owner refused to accept credit card for payments because "their credit card machine does not work." The sameness and bland taste of the buffet food becomes almost unbearable after two days. The local "five star" restaurants that do not even deserve a one-star rating are also part of the problem. Please think twice (and read other reviews) before going there. Your dream vacation or honeymoon can easily turn into a nightmare, or a sequence of huge disappointments and frustrations.

everything was good! The room was very nice and clean ,the food was excelent ,the customer service The best , the restaurant was wonderfull .I am planning to come back tretty soom.

KEEP AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!!

Upon our arrival, our room was not ready. They seem to be doing us a favor for getting us a room. Hey! We paid for our stay! Everyday, we had to call front desk to have our room serviced. No towels, no faceclothes, no clean glasses... The food is awful. There is not a decent restaurant except for the Japaneese one. At the Sante Fee, a steakhouse, we had to return our plate 3 times! We had a hard time identifyng what type of meat was served to us. Only a few of the staff were nice. We figured out why! The Europeans are disgusting!!! They are rude, impolite and loud!!!!! Kids screaming all the time. What is the matter with the people running this hotel? How can you recommend this hotel to be a four star! I travel on a regular basis - twice a year. I have not been so disappointed in my life! KEEP AWAY!!!

This is just what we dream about. Clean and spacious rooms. Very gentle service ( if you are polite with them). Unique beach. High quality restaurants. This Hotel is just superb.

Relaxing Paradise!

It's entertaining and relaxing, you can have a peaceful time in the beautiful beach or fun time in the pool area with all the activities they have. I don't get why Americans hate it so much! This is the caribbean dude, I mean you're not going to get a room with a view to the central park ok! The treat was amazing, the people is very welcoming. I'd love to come again someday...

Worst experience in my life.

A shortened version of what i sent them: In order for us not to have to write a book, I will summary as possible the agony we went thought at your resort: 1) Two of the nine guest were told that their room was on the left side of the resort; when it fact it was on the right side. One of these guests has a walking disability and had swollen legs after she walked around the whole resort like a monkey in a circus. 2) Some of the rooms had no remote control, others had no towels. Some had the fruit platter, some didn’t. One room had an apple with mold and the cup to wash your mouth when brushing your teeth had a “crust” that looked that it had at least three whole weeks without being washed. I have pictures to prove this as well. 3) In one room it took two attempts to get the towels for the two other guests. In a room specifically, room 4208, after three attempts; it saddens me to report that I am STILL waiting for your glorious towels. 4) The A/C was not working on any of the rooms. In addition, when we received the rooms, the A/C was off and it felt like a Sauna. It didn’t cool until the third day. We are used to hot weather, but it was never out intention to pay to die from a heat stroke. On top of that, whenever the cleaning personal cleaned the room they would turn off the A/C. 5) The reservation process for the restaurant was extremely disorganized. The reps didn’t make any effort to speed up the process. People will come in and skip as they pleased. 6) At the Strikers bar and Restaurant the service was mediocre. One employee specifically stood out. His name was Martin, he always wore a blue shirt with a blue cap. He is the rudest individual we have ever encountered in our life. This is a summary of some of the atrocities that he committed: a. Four of the nine guests sat down and informed him that five more were coming. When the other five get there, he tells them: “you shouldn’t have sat here, they already ordered” b. We ordered nine pina colada with liquor and he brought them without liquor, twice! c. The five of us who came after the original four called Martin to order food and he ignored them multiple times and put up his hand almost in our face like saying: “hold it because I am too busy for you” d. We ordered six brownies with ice cream. When I asked him about the ice cream. He said very cynically and sarcastically: “maybe yes, maybe no, we will see if it brings ice cream” i. Another employee delivered the brownies and to our surprise it had no ice cream. She advised us that he specifically said no ice cream. 7) When we finally got the remote control in one of the room; the guy knocked on the door and lifted his finger in the air as to signal to hold. He was on the phone and after five minutes, when he finished his conversation which seemed to be more important than us, the paying customers, he handed over the infamous remote control. It seems that we were a bother to his conversation and that he gets paid to talk on the phone. Servicing customers is secondary. This “phone” behavior was a recurring trend in your resort. 8) In the “Miramar” buffet, the lady in the front was extremely rude. We attempted to take some food out because we had a sick five year old and she rudely stopped us as if we were criminals. She told us that: “you can’t take the food out”. We were astonished, after having stayed at over 6 all inclusive; we have never been limited at to how, when, or where we eat the food that we pay for. She then called a manager who was a rude as they come. He said that: “you can’t take the food out, so you better eat it here”. He continued by saying: “if you want food outside then you have to order room service”. Something that we clearly didn’t want to do since room service had a charge. That manager finished by saying very sarcastically: “well what do you want me to do, take it to your room?” After begging him, he agreed to do that, unfortunately, the food got to our room 22 counted minutes after.

Our experience at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe

Barcelo Bavaro is the worst all inclusive resort that we have ever stayed at. The resort itself is beautiful but the service and the quality of the food is absolutely terrible. A group of 15 of us went together and 7 of us developed stomach issues. We later noticed that drinking glasses were only being rinsed with tap water and not washed or sanitized. The buffet food at the Dominican restaurant was sometimes over cooked, lacked any taste, and most of it could not be consumed. The service at the buffet was also terrible. There were no specific times when one buffet restaurant would open. The staff was very rude and provided no table service. This was specially apparent with our non Spanish speaking guests. The specialty restaurants were all bad, except the French and the Japanese. Getting reservations at the specialty restaurants was a major challenge. Many times we were told that no reservations were available when in fact the restaurants had empty chairs. I must say that the seafood restaurant was far the worst of all. The shrimp and lobster was uncleaned and black in color. Needless to say it could not be eaten. The house wine was watered down at times and in one case spoiled wine was served. The rooms were not cleaned in consistent manner. For example, the lady that cleaned my room gave us clean sheets on my bed everyday where other family members witness drinking glasses being dried with a dirty towel that was laying on the floor. Also, our toddler's crib had 3 roaches under the mattress. One of the roaches was killed on the sheet itself. When we asked for a different crib and sheets, the supervisor said that the roaches were now gone and that the sheet could be reused even though it had blood and roach remains on it. One of the rooms also had a terrible sewage smell. Although many attempts were made to mask the smell, we could smell human waste coming from the unit directly above us every time they flushed the toilet. It was really unfortunate that all 15 of us spent our hard earned dollars and our much need vacation at this resort. Unfortunately Punta Cana will not be seeing us again due to our experience at this resort. Security was also lacking. A physical altercation between multiple adults transpired and security did not respond until the altercation was over. Do not waste your time and money staying at this resort!
