10 reviews for Rodeway Inn Rutland, Rutland
Great for the money
By skribble3k, 12/29/09
I have been coming to Vermont while looking for a job for the last 3 months and have stayed here 5 times. This place has really grown on me. The owners are a little difficult to understand as they don't speak perfect English, but they are very helpful and friendly. Anytime there was a problem with my room or I needed something they took care of it quickly. The price is the best you'll find in the area, and the rooms are pretty good. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were pretty clean, though they were very dated. The bathrooms were alright, though small and I had trouble with the shower in the one room, and the sink in another. Over all though I am very glad I found this motel. Whenever I'm around Rutland VT, this is where I'll be staying.

Horrible
By Lindsay, 10/31/09
We were in VT for a funeral and it just so happened to be during fall foliage so there were no rooms anywhere....except here and now I know why. Our rooms were completely disgusting. There were stains on the sheets, no toilet paper in either room, old food under the bed, stains on the walls, the shower worked until someone flushed the toilet (anywhere in the motel). I was pregnant at the time and it felt completely unsanitary. I called the hotel group when we got home and they gave us our money back. Oh yeah, and we paid $200 for 1 night for each room. Completely disgusting!! We didn't even attempt the breakfast, we went to Friendly's instead.

OK I guess
By StacyS, 02/24/09
This place is your average ordinary motel. My room was ok..thats it ok. I did find it run down and old. The tub didn't drain well and the bathroom faucet stop dripping. The sheets smelled funky so I went to a store and bought some antibacterial frebreeze and it was better after that. I also bought some disinfectant spray and sprayed the door knobs light switches and everywhere in the bathroom..I have to be honest it was not very clean but what do you expect for the price. The good things were it was close to everything, pet friendly and cheap.

Clean, comfortable and inexpensive!
By Julie, 07/23/08
Excellent rating for the price ($46, including tax). This is absolutely the place to stay in Rutland if you want a clean, nice motel that doesn't cost a lot. The staff is helpful, and, as another reviewer mentioned, the swimming pool is really nice.

Great value

I was looking for the phone # there and came across the reviews and figured I would write a little something. The place is very simple - nothing luxurious, but is great for the money. Everyone there is really nice and do more than you would expect for the price you pay. I only come here when skiing at Killington, so to me it is just a bed and hot shower but i have been here at least 6 times and keep coming back

Excellent value

Close to Killington for a great price. Good bed, quiet room (electric heat so there is no noisey blower!), plenty of hot water and a staff that is extremely helpful. I left something in the room and did not realize it till I had driven home (5 hour drive) - when I called, I was told it would be sent the next day and not to worry about paying for the shipping up front! These are people who care about their guests!!

Value!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/05
I'm glad I didn't listen to the previous review on the Rodeway. We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay that would still put us within a reasonable distance to Killington Ski Resort. The rooms at the Rodeway are dated and on the small side, but very clean and comfortable. The beds are soft and firm, the water is hot, the tv and cable work great... what more do you want? We have stayed at the Rdeway three times so far and will probably continue to stay there every weekend this winter. The first time we stayed we had a fridge and a microwave in the room so the next time we brought snacks for the microwave, but we were put in a room that didn't have one. We called the front desk and had a microwave delivered to our door in two minutes. Everyone has always been quite accomodating and the Rodeway is in a populated area with shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, movie theaters, etc... It is much more cost effective to stay in Rutland if you are on a budget. The Killington area has lots of nice hotels and restaurants but you will pay the price. Also, the mountain lacks conveniences like reasonably priced grocery stores for incidentals. Places I do recommend on the mountain: The Gristmill, Johnny Boy's Pancake House, Wobbly Barn, Pizza Jerks

Don't come here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/05
Continental breakfast consisted of three boxes of Entenmann's pastries...room was not clean...felt like the manager was overly vigilant, especially when monitoring you eating breakfast...overall, a very shady place...for budget accommodations, check out Red Roof Inn or Ramada Limited.
