Courtyard Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo

First of all, everyone in that country are the rudest I have ever known. Instead of using confirmation numbers, they look up only by last names. Our whole family went for a cruise, 16 of us, and they had everything charged wrong on everyone's credit cards. When explaining that the charge was another family member, they were totally not understanding it at all!! I got charged twice for my hotel stay and so did 2 other family members. Marriott needs to get their act straight if they are going to advertize hotels in other countries. It makes a person think twice about staying there no matter where they are.

I just loved the security of the place. Everything is so organized and in place. Excellent service. Security team has everything under control. Just loved it.

Overall the hotel was clean and the staff was good. I had no complaints until I noticed an unauthorized charge on my credit card. The manager gave me a hard time about the charge and after 1 hour of arguing and printing my bank statement to show the charge, the supervisor discovered that there was another guest with the same last 4 numbers on their card, which is how the error was made. I still have not received so much as an apology. They tried everything in their power to avoid refunding my card. They offered hotel credits and so forth. Ultimately I just wanted my money back and it took them too long to accommodate me! This happened at the end of my 11 day trip so it really left a sour taste in my mouth with them. However, I will say that the cleaning staff was awesome and it was convenient to have the laundry room as I was was able to wash everything before I went home. I probably won't return due to the credit card issue because I did see another review where this happened to someone else. If you don't mind taking a gamble with your credit card being charged incorrectly then by all means I would recommend this hotel.

This place offers free internet throughout the hotel. They even have free computers to use and wireless internet. The staff was great and always willing to help us out. Overall, it was a great trip.

I traveled several times to Santo Domingo and I stayed at the Courtyard Santo Domingo twice. The hotel is very nice and offers standard Courtyard service and amenities such as free high speed internet, a basic workout room (2 treadmills, multiplex machine, dumbells) and a small but respectable restaurant. The rooms are standard Courtyard rooms similar to the rooms here in the US so it is very comfortable. They also come equipped with a refrigerator. The customer service is as good as you will find in any other hotel in the US. If you treat them with respect and show courtesy, they will do their best to help you. The hotel seemed very secure and they also have a guard in the parking lot. There is a small grocery store 3 blocks down the street to buy groceries , a gas station is 2 blocks away and the US Embassy is one block over. Overall, I feel like I am at home every time I stay at this hotel and it is a great deal for the price! The location is right downtown Santo Domingo and is near lots of shops and restaurants. I ate the food in the restaurant and it is good quality. If you are on a budget but still want a high quality, safe and respectable hotel, I would definitely recommend this hotel for you. I'm sure you will like it! Have fun
