Comfort Inn Rivers Edge, Huron

This was our second time we stayed at this hotel and we will be staying again in 2011. Best rates are during the off-season (i.e. after Labor Day). We stay here when we go to Cedar Point for Halloweekends. The rates are about 1/3 the normal summer rates and is less than 1/2 the price of hotels near Cedar Point. The free breakfast is good, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the rooms are comfy and clean. The hotel is within minutes to Cedar Point and if you like a quiet hotel located in a historic location, you'll love this one. My two boys love it when we order Jim's Pizza Box and have it delivered to our room. It's their favorite when we visit the area.

room did not work well for me at all being handicapped. Barely any room between bed and dresser. Dresser drawers do not fold out easy, trains from 12:30 a.m. on. Shower could not be used by a handicapped person and was awkward for my family to use. You had to step up into the tub and getting out was very awkward.

This is a very quiet place along the Huron River. You can watch boats enter and leave Lake Erie from the patio. The continental breakfast was average, but that was not a problem for us. The room was clean and fresh as was the entire hotel. We appreciate a clean, quiet and orderly hotel and this place delivers. Thank you for a very pleasant travel experience.

The staff was very friendly. The rooms are very nice and clean. ( Try to reserve a room on the Huron River side of the Inn so you may watch the seagulls which sometimes follow the sailboats and speedboats as they travel back and forth to Lake Erie... Our stay was during the summer of 2009, so we got to see a wonderful performance on stage at The Huron Playhouse, just a few blocks from the Inn! The Amphitheater is just a short walk from this hotel also....there's live music at the amphitheater on the weekends and movies during the week. I enjoyed the exercise room right off the beautiful indoor pool, also. My husband and I can't wait to return! Our relaxing three day stay in Huron was because of the staff and the facilities/amenities at this Inn. When we arrived without reservations on Sunday night, Sandy said they'd take very good care of us....she was right.

We stayed last weekend. We were in town for Cedar Point opening day. We found this hotel to be very clean,and a friendly & helpful staff, Very affordable and a great location! I would estimate a 10 minute drive to Cedar Point. We look forward to retuning next year!

This is a very family friendly hotel. Great place to take family when visiting Cedar Point or Huron / Sandusky, OH area. Nice pool and great staff.

We made a reservation about 2 months ahead for a weekend getaway. When we arrived there that day the desk clerk said the room was not available!! the reason she said was that they over booked a lot. And then she acted like she was doing us a favor by giving us a down graded room for a higher price then the nicer room! needless to say we never made it inside the rooms. we wont be going back there again

First, I would like to say I do not complain and I am not a picky traveler. But when you pay over $200 for 2 nights in a town that isn't even a major city, you expect the hotel to be nice. The only things nice about this hotel was the staff (Terri), the pool, and the location. The shower pressure was so bad, it felt as though the water was only half way on. The mattress was absolutely horrible. The sheets did not even fit on the mattress, so every time you moved, the fitted sheet would come off and there wasn't even a mattress pad, so you ended up sleeping on the bare mattress (disgusting). The towels were so rough that they literally left my body red. For over $100/night, I should have stayed somewhere else. I thought it would be nice to be a little farther away from Cedar Point and be somewhere close to the lake. I will not be staying at this hotel again. Pay the extra money and stay in Sandusky.

When we got their too sign in one of the reservations got messed up so we ended up with a room more expensive. One of the rooms was like a furnace, another like a walk in freezer. Bathroom walls weren't clean properly. Wall outlets weren't in available view too plug in a charger for batteries or a cell phone. Bed spread had a cigarette burn on it. Sheets and pillow cases were stained. All in all I myself would not go back to this Inn.
