A Cidade Maravilhosa - O Hotel Maravilhoso ...

Hotel Santa Teresa is an oasis of calm and beauty in a palpitating Rio de Janeiro full of life, atmosphere and passion. The Hotel is a perfect combination of comfort, elegance and beauty, topped with a touch of modernism, art and fashion. On my visit to Rio in June 2009 I made a stop at Hotel Santa Teresa to relax after a hot day of visits. The staff being so friendly, we were able to visit 2 rooms in the hotel: they were so beautiful, with a perfect combination of modern design and comfort, as well as native Brazilian and African art, in short: amazing. After a quick dip in the swimming pool, my husband and I went to the bar to have a drink and eat something before getting ready for our spa treatment. The bar/terrace was extremely nice: beautiful and fashionable setting with comfortable sitting places and incredible view over the city of Rio . Food and drinks were excellent and service was very friendly. The view from the top of the mountain down to the city of Rio with a beautiful sunset was just breath taking... I will definitely remember this moment. After that, we went to the spa, where again, the service was excellent. Our personal massage therapist was waiting for us and had already set up everything. Upon arrival, we received a glass of water with lemon, our towels/massage attire and we were brought to our own little changing room, which shortly could be defined as a luxury bathroom including all utilities - very nice. We then proceeded to our massage room which is actually located outside, but covered with natural woods - which gives an "inside-outside" style which is very cozy. Massage was excellent and therapists extremely friendly. After an hour of massage, we were offered to go to the sauna/turkish bath which they preheated only for us. I have to say that Hotel Santa Teresa is a little jewel in the middle of Rio de Janeiro. I would definitely recommend the hotel and hope that everybody will have the same unforgettable experience as I had - but I am sure they will - no doubts about it ;)
