Bad Management

We booked a suite online through their website that was to include a nice big bath tub and a fireplace on our anniversary. When we arrived it had neither. The front desk told us the suite with the fireplace and baths were booked for the next 3 days. We asked the clerk to call the manager so we could work something out. After talking to the manager the clerk informed us that there was nothing they could do so we called corporate. Corporate said that because it was a franchise they couldnt fix the situation themselves and so they called the manager. The manager then told us she would "let us leave" and come back in 3 days for that room but it was going to cost us more money. Then she started to lecture us on how to book an online hotel room. At this point we took our refund and left. Corporate apologized but were unable to resolve our issue because this particular hotel (in Lewisburg, WV) is a franchise and so corporate could not fix a booking. However, they did say what they could do was fine the hotel for refusing to resolve the issue. To be honest, money was not the issue. We would have gladly paid more to stay in the nicer room. But because of how poorly we were treated by mangement we didn't.
