If you are not east european, avoid, avoid
By MALCOLM, 11/14/08
2600 people in resort, 60 english, nearly all others east europeans. Food cold and of poor quality, service slow and lethargic. Staff, although very friendly when they know that you are english, are untrained and look as though they are fed up with the rude east europeans who are pushy and rude, seem to want to drink and eat as much as they can. Very much like Benidorm of 35 years ago as I remember. I have read comments on Hurgharda on other web sites and it sems that this is not the only hotel in this resort with this problem. Trust me one to avoid. Visit at your peril!!!

Don't dive with the hotel dive centre
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/08
I thought the resort and food etc was okay, it was acceptable although I wouldn't rave about it. But overall pretty good value I think. Generally staff were friendly and helpful. However.... I would not recommend the dive centre (called pirates... and they are!). The equipment is old and faulty. I had an o-ring explode in my ear just before the first dive and it affected my hearing for a good 48hrs, plus affected my balance. My partner's bcd had a hole in it. And if that wasn't enough, they tried several times to rip us off when it came time to pay, trying to add on mysterious extras and miscalculating credit card fees, all the tricks in the book. DO NOT dive with this crowd. Do yourselves a favor and find a good dive centre in hurghada. we dived with panorama divers which is beside head candy beach bar. it was infinitely better, better sites, better equipment, better bigger boat, brilliant french-canadian guide and even cheaper than the resort was. One other word of warning, check the prices of anything before you accept it or you might get a rude shock when you pay your bill on checkout. I had a double bourbon and coke and my partner had a double baileys, my drink cost 125 egyptian pounds (about 12 pounds sterling) and hers was about 10 quid!!!! it was a bad note to end the holiday on. Also don't go here to meet other english-speaking guests. We only met one other english couple staying there in a week (the hotel holds 2000 people). Mostly russians and polish stay here. Apart from these gripes, it was an enjoyable holiday!

Great beach and bad bad food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/08
The beach and pools are very nice but the food is tasteless, of poor quality and not good even for animals. The new chef is destroying the Helton's name

The worst vacations i ever had.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/08
Usually vacations means pleasure, relaxation, fun, rest, etc. In this hotel you can find all but that. I never had vacations like this: horrible. The Hotel has physical conditions, but everything else is a nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The gardens are mistreated, there are few shadows, palm trees, and the guests are just a mean to achieve profits anyway they can. Nothing is included, not even the bottled beer (national!) or water in the bars. We would expect to find all kind of fruits, at least during the main meals, but not here: all i have found was bananas, pears and some “tamaras” (peaches). Regarding the food: it couldn’t be worse. There´s no variety, not even typical food (Egyptian). Basically we paid everything, except the main meals. Even in a beach party, during the night, we had to pay the beers (national…). There where almost no activities because the only ball that exists his for the beach volley. The only show (poor..) was during the night and worth for the sympathy of the animators. The only snacks between the main meals where hot dogs and “beefs”. Meanwhile, in the main lobby, in the middle of July, they where doing works in the bars to modernize it. Dust every where, in the drinks, the guests, in the few snacks that they had to bring from outside. And the noise…you can’t imagine. Not even the employees have conditions to work in the hotel… Finally a singular justification: someone told us that had been in this hotel a few years ago (4 years) and that it was a great hotel, the problem is the administration: since that time there where 2 new, both Egyptian… This is not a Hilton. Vacations not to repeat (in Hilton Hurghada Long Beach).

Don't Go Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/19/08
Forget all inclusive, anything worth eating or drinking has to be paid for. The beach is more like a building site and very dirty as are the sun loungers, the beach towels are filthy and don't smell very nice. The food is disgusting (except the bread), the hotel mainly caters for its abundance of russian guests, and most of the glasses and crockery are chipped and broken. The room was cleaned daily to a reasonable standard and fabulous floral arrangements on the bed every day(thanks to housekeeping). The staff at the villa pool bar were lovely and went out of their way to serve you, unlike the reception staff. The main hotel reception is horrendous, it's full of smoke, even the staff smoke in here whilst on duty. A definate drop in standards for Hilton hotels!!!

this is great...
By Milos, 6/2/08
First of all i just want to say that my last holiday was great, and i just can't wait to go back to hilton long beach hurghada... Service was really great, sometimes they were boring with questions like Would u like this or that... They were really polite, and everything u ask them they will do that for you! Room wass great, big and comfortable, we had everything we needed in our room although we were in it only for sleeping, and we have never used tv! Location is not so good, but cabs are so cheap, so that is not also a problem. For example you need to pay 2 euros for a cab from hilton to hurghada centre. For two weeks we went only two times in city centre only because we wanted do go to disvo, but everything u need is in the hotel and u have no need to go to the centre. The only thing that I didn't like is the fact that great majority of the guests are families with kids or older couples. I'm 21 years old, so that was a little problem for me, but for u maybe i won't be. Great place, great holiday, great joy. Believe me!!!!

Not the best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/31/08
Poor food....difficult staff .....needed to que for food....often drinking glasses not available for drinks....nothing very clean.....cannot understand why other reviewers rave about this hotel.....very spread out....not all outside areas are neat and tidy....only the very basic food and drinks are available on the "all inclusive " deal....normal things are all extra .....a long way from city centre.....would not visit again

Cannot understand why this is currently rated 1
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/08
I really cannot understand why this is currently rated best hotel in this area. The food was poor and boring. Nowhere in this hotel was really clean....just cleaned on the surface.....gardens near main reception were nice but as you progressed away to other areas the gardens were unkept and overgrown with weeds....pool and beach bars very dirty.....I was all inclusive but this only gave basics...anything half decent was extra.....I took the front desk manager on a tour and he said he agreed it was not acceptable....high percentage of guests were Russian and it seems they will accept anything...if you are european you will not find this hotel acceptable....and Paris Hilton would certainly not stay here

miss it already!
By Lauren, 11/14/07
My boyfriend and I have just come back from a two week long holiday in hurghada where we stayed at the Hilton long beach. I read a few reviews, and I have to say it was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed it. Our room, was clean and spacious, bathroom also clean with working shower, we had a tv with over 50 channels and a good sized balcony with a great view of the pools and the beach. The staff couldnt do enough for you, very friendly and always checking whether everything is ok. As brits we were something of a minority, most of the guests were russian, which-not to offend anyone-are not the most polite of people and the only annoying thing about the hotel was how many there were. There were 7 good sized pools, and a beach further down. The beach itself was ok, it had man made sand, and you had to walk about 10 minutes to actually get to swimming level, so we spent more time at surrounding beaches on our excersuions. snorkelling is one of the highlights of egypt, the fish were amazing and the water is like stepping into a swimming pool. Hurghada is a 20 min cheap cab ride away, with loads of bars and clubs, me and boyfriend went to ministry of sound on the beach! One slight annoyance is the hassle. Its customary in these countries to pester tourists to come into their shops and buy something, at the hotel when you just want to relax by the pool or the sea the workers will approach you and get you to do different excersions, the best thing is just to politly say no thank you. Having said that we did take advantage of one trip out to sea, to snorkell which was amazing, dinner included and a trip to the beautiful maymeya beach, all for £20. Taking advantage of the all inclusive service, there was always different foods to enjoy, the main buffett style restaurant was slightly repetative and some of the food was a bit tasteless but there was so much else to choose from you never went hungry. We enjoyed time in the sports bar, where the friendly barman will make you cocktails all for free as part of the offer, they also have hot dogs and cake! The weather was stunning, but dont be fooled by that little breeze, you'll still burn! All in all I enjoyed myself immensly and would recommend Hurghada and the hilton long beach to anyone.
