Sun Suites of Cumming, Cumming

This place is not one that I would like to stay in for 6 months but it met our need for a temporary place until we decided where we wanted to live. It is minimal but efficient with a 2 burner stove and microwave, refrigerator in the kitchen. One large room is used for a bedroom and eating area, plus a place to watch tv. It is okay for 2 people. Maintenance and cleaning is done on a weekly basis with towels resupplied in between.

The room was dirty with bugs crawling in the bathroom. I didn't have the nerve to pull back the covers on the bed to see what was in there. There was also a horrible smell to the room, which the staff must've tried to mask with bleach. We actually paid for the 1st night (since we'd already checked in) but didn't stay there. We found another hotel in the area because we couldn't stand the thought of staying in that room longer than 5 minutes. Pay the extra money...go somewhere else!!!!

I travel often for business and stay in hotels frequently because of this. Even though the reviews I read about Sun Suites in Cumming, GA were negative, I took a chance and booked two nights. I was in Cumming, GA June 30, July 1, and July 2 of this year. I should have taken the poor reviews to heart and found other accomodations. The shower did not work. There were crawling bugs in the bathroom and flying bugs in, and around, the bed. When my grown daughter called the front desk to discuss a problem, the "manager" was rude. I called the lady back to see why she had treated my daughter with such discourtesy. The lady hung up on me! When I called back to try once more to straighten out the mess, she hung up on me again! I walked to the office to talk to Betty in person. She was hostile and threatened to call the police to escort me off "her" property. I did not deserve this treatment; nor have I ever met with this level of unprofessionalism from someone in the service industry. This lady, Betty, claimed to be the manager when I asked to speak with someone in authority. If she is, indeed, in a management position, Sun Suites is being very poorly represented. Betty has the business sense of a cantaloupe, and the social skills of one of Mike Vick's pit bulls. I will NEVER stay in another Sun Suites. The non-working shower and presence of insects I could have stomached; but the rude behavior of "management" was enough to convince me that Sun Suites does not care about customer service.

Don't be fooled by the name. They aren't suites, they have only one room. And the kitchen is NOT "apartment-sized." It's as small as they get. And a stove, but no pots or pans. The clientele is mostly construction and utility workers that keep weird hours with very loud trucks that wake you up everytime they leave or depart. And the doors are very close to the parking lot. If you bring a teenage girl, guard her or she will be preyed upon.
