I have occasion to stay overnight in BR for business very frequently. I will not stay at this hotel again. The room was quiet, comfortable, and fairly clean (a little worn perhaps). But this exhausts the positive aspects of my stay.
The infrastructure appears nice on the website but the reality falls well short of acceptable. The approach appears to be to cut back on everything possible. There is no ice maker on site. The room is equipped with a 'full kitchenette' which was proudly pointed out by the staff when I asked how I was supposed to get ice for my room. Apparently I was expected to fill the ice trays in the freezer in the 'full kitchenette' and wait. My room was stocked with one plate, one cup, one bowl, and one glass in the 'full kitchenette'. I was glad to be staying only one night.
The night staff was fairly helpful (especially in pointing out that I was able to use the 'full kitchenette' to make my own ice) and courteous. The morning staff fell well short of this unassuming mark. The office does not open until 07:00 AM. Well that is the stated plan anyway. During my stay it did not open until 07:20. I arrived in the lobby in a hurry to check out and get to work for a big presentation only to find it closed. I met another guest in the lobby whose key card for his room did not work (which he did not discover until after the office closed. He spent the night on a chair in the lobby - and I thought I had problems...) The desk person was surly and uncooperative (once she finally arrived). Apparently I was to be satisfied with the extra time I got to spend there because no apology for her tardiness or her inability to provide me a receipt for my expense account was forthcoming.
It seems I am too demanding a customer, fortunately they won't have to put up with any more of my unreasonable expectations. Maybe they can get the guy who slept in the lobby back?
