I will stay again the next time I'm in town. The staff was very nice and helpful. Porsha at the front desk was amazing! She went above and beyond! I stayed on two very busy nights and she made it seem as though I was the only one on property! The rooms were nice and they even had a great cab service waiting on me within 10 minutes! I loved it!
After returning from a late night dinner, the power was out in the hotel. We attempted to call the front desk but the room phones were out. We tried to call from our cell phones but the front desk phone was out too. Initially, the hall lights were working but had gone out and given the late hour and the cloud of smoke (not cigarette smoke!) we had to pass through to enter the hotel (side door) we chose not to go back into the hallway in the dark to find a Hilton employee. The next morning we learned a car accident on the interstate had knocked out the power. Understandably this was not Hilton's fault. However, their response - or lack of response - for the safety and well being of their guests was unbelievable. No one offered an explanation until we asked another guest. We were in town for a family wedding which my elderly father planned to attend. Had he not fallen the morning we left, he would have been with us. Thankfully, he was not. I wonder what actions Hilton and/or its employees would have taken for any disabled guests, i.e those on oxygen, etc., had someone actually needed it. Needless to say, we left the next morning but not after stepping over crickets in our rooms, in our luggage and in the hallways.
Overall, had there not been problems with the power and the crickets, I still would not recommend this hotel. The bed was uncomfortable (mattresses must be old), the bathrooms unclean and the service nonexistent.
lobby under construction, upon arrival a guest was complaining about room, i found out why. remotes did not work well, shower head was so loose it sprayed straight down, light bulbs were out in ceiling fan, 2nd night of stay room nor coffee pot were cleaned, had no clean towels next morning called frt desk lady did bring towels & coffee, towels for only 1 person, my wife called frt desk again only to be argued with by male, hour later no towels, called again lady answered towels did finally arrive. worse experience ever in any hotel or motel anywhere
I never write reviews. Our experience with this hotel was so severely bad that I thought I must write something. I am a seasoned business traveler, but this one was a first. We arrived at 3PM yesterday to the Hilton Garden Inn in Shreveport LA, and our room wasn't ready. The receptionist tried using her walkie talkie but the maint person and housekeeping would not answer her. She was obviusly frustrated with them and said they never answer her. The hotel was under construction so there was no lobby. I can understand that but it was a mess. We finally got to our room. We were wanting to relax and wanted to watch Avatar. Our suite had remote controls but not the kind that have the yellow menu button. I called the front desk and she said she would look for a remote and call me back. After an hour I called her back and she siad she was still looking. I asked her if the hotel was full and she said yes. I asked where did she plan on looking for a remote. She said in her area. I knew then she was just lying. The room layout was actually nice. The room had two flatscreen TV's but the picture was horrible and there was a lot of buzzing interference that happened every few seconds that was really lous through the speakers. We didnt even bother calling the front desk. We looked forward to getting in bed. We got in bed and realized there was a gigantic beach ball sized flat spot on the mattress. All night we would slide toward the hole. I finally hooked my leg over the side of the bed to keep from sliding. I have a bad back so I woke up pretty sore this morning. Lastly, my wife just took a shower and when she pulled the knob for the shower, the entire plumbing housing came out of the wall. I really thought that the Hilton brand meant that our experience would be really nice. We took photos of these things and probably will post them later.

The Front Desk Manager, Cheryl is a wonderful person. But the overall cleanliness of the hotel rooms leaves alot to be desired. This was my second and last stay. I originally thought the issues existed because this was new facility. Not the case. The housekeeper left garbage in the room, all of the glassware was filthy- lipstick, fingerprints etc. They should really consider paper.
The duvet was stained and the coffee was not replenished.
It is not rocket science.
