Travelers Rest Resort, Dade City

Heard about the episode of the person posting Travelers Rest Resort as unfriendly to pets. As suggested this person was in violaiton of park polices and his dog(s) bit another guest becasue they were not propertly controlled.

I have no idea why someone said they were not pet friendly, we went on a campout this weekend, every one of the people in our rally had a dog and there were no problems. As long as people pick up the dog mess there is not a problem...it is when people do not abide by the rules...they even have their own dog park that your dog can run in and also a place to bathe your dog...they do like dogs... Travelers Rest is one of the best campgrounds we have been to recently, they were so accomodating, we had a rally and the Rally hosts Marilyn and Darold could not have been more helpful, they gave us tours around the whole resort so we would see everything, and they even let us use their golf cart because we had some people who could not walk to the clubhouse..I thought it was terrific and I would not hesitate to go back again, in fact we made reservations for next December also...we loved it...no negativity here that is for sure... There was nothing at all that I disliked, great place for your Rallys..or just for camping out Sandi

We are snowbirds from Michigan coming to TR for the past 7 winters because John;s Dad was in the resort for 23 years when he passed in 2008. He had, and we still have his Black Lab. We have a wonderful Kennel Club, wonderful fenced in and maintained pet and owner friendly "puppy park'. The complaint was probably due to previous reviewer not wanting to follow reasonable policy (papers to show vaccines and up to date license, not to use lunge leash as is dangerous for pet and other people as do not have good control and the rules as to where a pet may be walked (most of park is available) and the need to clean up after your own pet. All reasonable to reasonable pet owners. We have a 5 star rated park and policies like this keep all reasonable people happy. Come and enjoy. You and your pets will love it.
