My husband and I spent a night there for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful, history oozed from the walls. The owners are gracious. I would highly recommend a stay at Wettershaw Manor.
The price is perfect. Comfortable furishings. Great for vacations, roadtrips, or business trips.
The service was exellent. The owner has an in credible grasp of the local history and learning about his family history is something history buffs will thrive over!!! Quiet location for relaxing and enjoying the surrounding areas. I am definitely going to stay longer on my next trip there.
Wettershaw Manor was a delight from start to finish. It is so beautiful and full of old world charm. The owner is an expert on its history and past events and is very willing to take the time to explain it to his guests. The owners made themselves available to all of our requests and went above and beyond the call of duty to make us comfortable and at home. The food was excellent and I could tell that a lot of effort went into its planning. It was such an unexpected delight. I was just expecting a pretty place to stay, but it is so much more than that. This was a rare treat. The owners are so enthusiastic about the history of the house that you get caught up in it. The rooms have refrigerators as well so if you have special food that you need or just want a late night snack, you're good to go. The bed was so comfortable I asked where they got the mattress! The walls of the manor are covered with original painted portraits of the extensive family lineage right up to the present day. On the tour, Andrew (owner) talks extensively about each person and their role in the family. I hated to leave. Paulette (owner) is beautiful and kind and gracious and a joy to get to know. The grounds are absolutely lovely, with beautiful trees interspersed throughout the beautiful grounds. The location is close to the interstate and shopping and very easy to find. It was definitely worth the time and the money to stay there. I highly recommend staying at the Wettershaw Manor B & B!
Outstanding place full of history, great to meet some of the family members. Looks like all the pics I have seen, most B&B's dont look the same as the pics when you see them, but this one dose.
As one who occasions bed and breakfasts now and again, I have to give Wettershaw Manor my highest marks. You will find the hosts, Andrew and Paulette wonderful and most gracious with an incredible knowledge of the rich history of the manor and a special enthusiasm for telling the story.
The Manor itself is amazing. The restoration that Andrew and Paulette are doing will leave you in awe; authentic antiquites and original workmanship from days gone by. The rooms are elegant, spacious and have all of the creature comforts of the modern day.
If you are in the area or just passing through, I highly recommend a stay at the Wettershaw.
