Just noticed this web review site.
Stayed here for several months while buying/remodeling home in the area. Our site was huge, level and attractively landscaped. Very nice view of two lakes. No large trees, but good satellite reception on the plus side. Roads are not wide, but totally adequate for our 41 foot motor home. Well placed water/sewer/electric, spotlessly kept park and bathroom, shower, laundry facilities.
Restaurant was not open as of fall of 2009, but park and residents sponsored many wonderful get-together meals and potlucks to which all guests were invited and made to feel very welcome. Only sheriff presence we saw there was when the deputy came out as a courtesy to record our vin number for Alabama registration ($$$$$) to save us having to drive it into town.
One of our best parks ever.
This is an owners park. They write reviews to get renters to help pay the bills as the developer did not pay his bills. Foreclosure is a possibility here. All the management wants to do is rent sites to pay her way. The park if nicely landscaped. The road are very narrow. The management is the worse I have seen in RVing through 34 states! She allowed a situation to fester that eventually forced me to call the Sheriff's department. This is a very dangerous park as long as they have an incompetent manager! The owner then told me I brought in on and she wasn't going to get rid of a paying customer. Scary park. Park is 15 miles away from Walmart and 10 for any real stores. Park has no street lighting and cars come in day and night. Lock your things!
This park was so clean and well kept. The bathrooms were so nice and clean and each one is seperate from the next. It made you feel like you were at home. The parking pads are large and concrete and easy to access. Lake Guntersville is just a stones throw away where the fishing is great. The staff at Blue Heron was extremely helpful, especially a young woman named Melissa who made us feel very welcome.
The location was wonderful! We stayed over the holiday weekend- played a golf tournament at Gunter's Landing on Sunday. Since the park is new, all the facilities, clubhouse, and pool are in great shape. There is even a restaurant right in the clubhouse (Pam's Place). The park is convenient to both Scottsboro and Guntersville so we had a good time exploring the area. There are several golf courses and also a boat launch about a mile away.
In addition to daily and weekly rentals, Blue Heron still has lots available for purchase. We will definitely go back. It was very nice and the staff and other campers were wonderful.
