"We have been tent camping for years & have never seen anything like this. It was absolutely disgusting. The only good thing is that they gave us our money back after the 1st night. Bathrooms are rundown w/ spiders everywhere. They put us in a grass lot backed up to a business. I smelled something strange right away, but didn't realize what it was until 6:30 AM the garbage dump came(LOUD) & we got a big wiff of garbage smell. They cram as many people into the campsite as possible, RV's are right on top of each other. Beaches are okay, but certainly not the best in FL. I rated this 1 star because 0 was not an option." Felt very bad for bringing my children into this atmosphere
The park is clean, well kept and we loved the pretty birds. We stayed in a tent and the early traffic noise was a little crazy but not that bad. This was my 3rd trip to the island and I plan to return many times. The people are very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is very laid back and welcoming. Just love the lightlhouse and the beaches.. Can't wait to go back!!
This is our favorite place to camp. We have a 9 year old boy that loves the beautiful birds in the cages and lemurs. The staff is always nice and friendly, very accomodating. The bath is a little dated but clean and we have full hook up for our RV, so who cares. Its reasonably priced, close to the beach and peaceful. You can bike anywhere as there are bike paths all over. We love it.
The worst camp site possible. All tent sites are back to the busiest periwinkle parkway, sleep next to a RV entrance. Noisiest night + by 5:30 am, it's already like a construction site. Felt like a homeless people sleep on a street. Shower is cold water and far from sites. Sites are messy + big ant hole. We got bitten by numerous ants. Prepared to stay 9 days, have to leave after 1 night and look for expensive cottage. The lady "Jodi" had the attitude of "who cares". They even tried to confiscated my deposit. Now we know why they only take cash. It's the worst idea to camp in sanibel.
