The room was very nice it was our first time spending a whole weekend together. Our view of downtown was very nice and also the bathroom was to die for. We can't wait to go back we really enjoyed ourselves at this lovely hotel.

Not my first Hard Rock!
By ,
I will start by saying I had sent this hotel an e mail 2 weeks before our arrival and never got a response. Upon check in my travel buddy who booked the trip was greeted by Jose at check in. Mike confirmed tha we wanted a smoking room no upgrade was necessacery due to our positve experiances at the Las Vegas property. The nice bellman took our bags to the 7th floor which was non smoking and promptly took us to a handicapped room overlooking Lake Michigan ave. We had our room changed immediatly however these rooms are for the business travler and not pleasure. The muted tones were nice however storage space was minimal. Tipping your maid $10 a day guarentees you all the towels you need and fresh bedding. Beds were very comfortable overall just not what a Hard Rock shoud be. China Grill had a great dinner presentation although overpriced. There was not even music on the Television without premium service. Last but least if you are a Chicago sports fan you will be most dissapointed by the fact you can not catch a baseball game(CUBS) anywher in the hotel. This property did not meet my expectations.

AWESOME!!.....AWESOME!!.....AWESOME!!
By ,
Me and my wife absolutely love Chicago and try to visit every year, and so we've stayed and a number of Hotel's downtown. Most of them are O.K. but The Hard Rock Hotel has had the best service that I've seen so far. When we first got to our room we did'nt like it because it was right next to the ice-machine so I called down to the front dest and they sent the bell-boy up with our new room keys, which was cool. The rooms are nice and clean and the bed is awesome. At the bar the service is great. Room-service was prompt, and the food good. But the thing that put The Hard Rock over the top for me was that at 1:00 in the morning I had a terrible headache and so I called the concierge to find out if the Hotel store was still open. They told me not to worry about it and that would bring me some aspirin. So I guess they ran out to the nearest 7-Eleven and got me some extra-strength Tylenol and only charged with the cost of the aspirin. Of course I gave them a tip but I was really impressed. Within the hour my head-ache was gone and slept like a baby and so I am really grateful for the wonderful service. AWESOME job!.. If you don't believe me check the Hotel out for yourself.

A little noisy... But its in a great location!
By ,
I went for the Taste of Chicago. The hotel was in a perfect location right between Millinium/Grant Parks and Magnificent Mile Shopping. The room and bathroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable after a long day of exploring the city. The only bad thing about the room was that you can hear everything going on in the room next door and outside (street level). It didn't bother us too much, but I can see how it could for most people. You can hear the sirens and honking on the street level as well as your neighbors coming in and out of their rooms. The room also has poor lighting, but I guess that is the look the Hard Rock was going for. Also, we were supposed to get a daily newpaper in front of our door every morning and we only got it 1 out of the 4 days we were there... Overall, we had a great time. I guess if you are looking for a centrally located place and you don't mind a little noise, than this is the place for you!

it was okay
By ,
I have stayed at a lot of hotels in Chicago and I was not at all impressed by this one. Location is great, especially if you are visiting to site-see and shop. Run was "stylish", but run down and not very clean. Staff was curteous, but didn't go above and beyond. Decor was nice, but I guess for the money we spent, I expected more. For that kind of money, you'd be better off at the Raddison or Embassy Suites.

Rude & Ignorant Reservationist Staff
By ,
I've been trying to make a reservation to stay at this hotel. First, I had a bad feeling because from the moment I made my reservation, the Reservation agent who handle my reservation never get back to me until I call them back after a week never heard from Reservationist agent from Hard Rock hotel! Second, they told me, never called me back because the date I reserved is unavailable anyway, yeah...they are so nice aren't they??? Not just that, after all of that not enough for them to dissapoint me, I requested another date and they told me (again) will call me back. Third, as an ussual never call me back, and when I call back (again) she told me unavailable.... I am so upset, but the Hard Rock hotel reservationist agent don't care if I'm upset enough anyway, they not even give me suggestion to pick another date that they will know for sure will available. I just wish Hard Rock hotel treat me more like a "Guest". I wish they have excellent service & outstanding staff, but they are NOT. I will not recomended Hard Rock hotel Chicago to my family member, my co-worker, and my staff. Hard Rock Hotel Chicago is not the only hotel in Downtown Chicago.

Nothing exciting..
By ,
My husband and I were trying to get away for a romantic weekend. I was disappointed as soon as we arrived. Overnight parking with Valet was almost 40 dollars a night. The receptionist was rude and slow. The decorating throughout the hotel is very bland with little to no color.(Except in the lobby and bar which is very hip and modern looking.) Our room was tiny and with all the lights on still very dark. Our window looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows but at night you could hear every little thing coming from the hallway like doors opening, people talking, and the elevator. When I asked for a fan the front desk said they would bring one up and it never arrived. We did have a package deal with the room that included breakfast in our room. The breakfast was nicely presented and it was rather large but nothing that tasted great. Overall the room was ok but not worth the money that we paid. I would not recommend the hard rock for a romantic stay nor will I be returning.

Loved it! Loved it!! Loved it!!!
By ,
I went to Chicago with my daughter and her boyfriend during the 4th of July. We needed two rooms, so we got the corner queen suite and a connecting king. The rooms were so cool! The service was great! We wanted to stay two nights, so we got a second night half price deal. We loved it so much in Chicago that we wanted to stay another night, so they let us stay for half price for one more night, and gave us a late checkout. They did everything in their power to make our vacation a time we will never forget. We will always stay there whenever we go back. It was wonderful!!
