Worst hotel ever! VALET will rob you!
By ,
This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! The valet service robbed us!! They told us we could leave our luggage in my truck until we got back from a Bears game and it would be in a secure lot (for $35/day it should be!). When we got back, the truck had been broken into and they said they were too lazy to park it in the secure lot AFTER they helped us load the truck with all of our luggage! Then the hotel said everything would be taken care of....BS! They told me the next day that they were not responsible, but the valet service would take care of it! After going back and forth for a month with the valet service, I was forced to make a claim on my own insurance! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Service

I made a reservation at this hotel 2 months prior to my arrival. I did it via phone, so I didn't have an email confirmation. Most hotels can find you in their system thru your last name, so I was not too concerned that I didn't have my confirmation number. I called a week prior to my arrival and was told my reservation did not exist. They found it hard to believe that I didn't have a confirmation number. When I made the reservation, I was quoted a price of $130. When I was told about my NON existing reservation, I was told the price would be $209 and that $130 was never a price they offered. Hence, they were basically calling me a liar. I know I made the reservations and I know I made them at this hotel, b/c I got this as a gift for someone, and when I booked a concert we were going to, I immediately booked the hotel and then made a card explaining the gift, including our accomodations. The reservations manager, and the girl at the front desk did nothing to help me, nor did they seem concerned that THEY screwed up my reservation. Possibly making it for the wrong day?? I had given them my credit card information and everything. Where did that go??? Being very upset about this, I got onto their website and clicked "Contact Us" and sent them an email of my dis-satisfaction. Hard Rock Hotel Int'l apparently was where the email was sent, and they took NO responsibility for the Chicago location, saying they weren't part of Hard Rock Int'l. Why did the email go to them then? Who knows. All I know is THEY screwed up. They did NOTHING to help me. And I made a reservation somewhere else. Apparently, the Int'l location forwarded my email to their contact at this hotel, but I have yet to hear back from them. If you don't want your reservation screwed up, don't stay here. Customer service seems next to nothing. They obviously don't care. Every time I called, I kept getting the run around, and I was wasting money and my time, making long distance calls. They don't care. I didn't even stay here, and although I looked forward to it, I will never stay here, or another Hard Rock Hotel. If this is the type of service they want to give, good luck to them in keeping customers!!

Rude & Ignorant Reservationist Staff
By ,
I've been trying to make a reservation to stay at this hotel. First, I had a bad feeling because from the moment I made my reservation, the Reservation agent who handle my reservation never get back to me until I call them back after a week never heard from Reservationist agent from Hard Rock hotel! Second, they told me, never called me back because the date I reserved is unavailable anyway, yeah...they are so nice aren't they??? Not just that, after all of that not enough for them to dissapoint me, I requested another date and they told me (again) will call me back. Third, as an ussual never call me back, and when I call back (again) she told me unavailable.... I am so upset, but the Hard Rock hotel reservationist agent don't care if I'm upset enough anyway, they not even give me suggestion to pick another date that they will know for sure will available. I just wish Hard Rock hotel treat me more like a "Guest". I wish they have excellent service & outstanding staff, but they are NOT. I will not recomended Hard Rock hotel Chicago to my family member, my co-worker, and my staff. Hard Rock Hotel Chicago is not the only hotel in Downtown Chicago.

Not worth the price, AT ALL!
By ,
Well, the location is great, but that's about it. We were at the HRH for a weekend concert. The rooms were "smallish" and furnished in that dated "modern edgy grey and silver rock and roll" theme. The bar was a total joke. My basement bar is larger at home than The Base Bar. They should call it The Basement Bar. The people from the bar spill out into the hotel lobby. The staff (waitress and reception) were slow and not very nice. The worst part was after our concert we were back at the hotel at midnight and they only had one person working the food room service! We finally ate at 2:30 am!

Hit or Miss
By ,
I've stayed at this Hotel 3 times in the past three years. Overall, it was a great time-however each time I've been there, it's progessively gotten less enjoyable. The positives are-it lacks your typical older vegas crowd that just play the penny slots all day and gord themselves at a buffet for the $7 Prime Rib special. Secondly the hotel his not a huge Venue, you can literally walk around the place in 5 minutes (this good when your looking for someone and I guess bad if your trying to get away). Service was overall good-we did have some difficulty at the pool-seemed like the staff was a bit overwhelmed and it was tough getting drinks. Sunday's "Rehab" at the pool is absolutely the place to be in Vegas-words cannot describe the scenery. It's literally out of control. Now, the negatives. Like I said, gradually you can see a definite decline in the people that go to this place. I've definitely noticed a higher men/woman ratio-word has definitely gotten out. It seemed like there were a lot less girl "groups" that were hanging out-maybe they went to the Palms. Lastly, the prices have gone way up as far as the rooms are concerned-so if $$ is an issue and your rooms don't get comped, be prepared.

Trendy
By ,
My husband and I went to the Hard Rock in Chicago on my Birthday. We have stayed in a lot of different hotels and this hotel was very modern. We took pictures of the room (that says volumes)! The room was very clean and the staff was really nice. At night they have a bar that gets really full and a DJ, the crowd varies late 20's to late 40's. Very close to Millenium Park.
