amazing
I have stayed here several times, last time was this last June. Being the low season, and considering I had no reservation, they were very good and efficient on getting me a room and ready to relax. I have gone frequently to teach a class in Quepos, and found this is the best place to stay.
This last time I stayed on a junior suite, which they upgraded me to, and was great. I did not have the intention to stay that much in the room, but the room was great. Had a great balcony with patio furniture, a full kitchen, a fridge...more than I was looking for.
The next night I had to come back, had an issue getting back to San José, and the standard room I booked was equally nice. Smaller of course, but very comfy.
I can say they have wonderful bathrooms. That is something I often look for, and these were very clean, big and comfortable.
In previous stays, when I've been there with friends (from the company and other friends) we rented the apartment (which has two rooms and can accomodate plenty of us). It was very very nice.
The pools are great and the restaurant serves wonderful food. I agree with a previous review that the coffee and Gallo Pinto is just the best. And the attentions from the lady who served breakfast were amazing.
At last... I think there are two main reasons (above everything I just mentioned) that will for sure make want to come back:
1. Rebecca and Giancarlo the owner. They are simply wonderful people and very nice. I know Giancarlo makes it a habit to talk to his customers, which I find amazing. Rebecca is great as well. I asked her to help me find a bar I had heard of, and she did not hesitate to go the extra mile to get the information for me, write it on a post it, and leave it on my door. You really feel welcomed!
2. The price. This is a wonderful hotel, and yet very affordable. Manuel Antonio has become pretty expensive, and there are many places that are not really worth that much money. Mimos is not cheap, but not expensive... and it is totally worth it.
Hope this helps!
