Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta

I personally don't recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy!!!!!!!!!
First of all, upon our arrival, we were greeted the first day with my sister-in-law's car being scratched by another car door while in the hands of the all mighty "vallet parking", this was of course just the tip of the iceberg.
Then they "vallet parking", made an even bigger scratch on my cousins car with yet another car door. The alarm went off and so these "boys" decided to yank the cables in order to shut the alarm.
Now the icing on the cake, 2 days after arriving to this "palace" we went to get our car because we had to buy some groceries. The head of the Vallet Parking recommended that we ask for our car 15 min. prior to our departure and so we did. 15 miniutes passed and then 30, so my husband asked what anyone would normally ask under these circumstances..........."where is my car?", to which they replied "there's been some sort of incident".
The so-called "incident" was that a stupid taxi driver came in the wrong direction, with a high speed and yes you guessed it, crashed into my car, which was also practically a new car.
The taxi driver agreed to pay for the damage to the vehicle, which was to add a new door and practically all of the driver's side.
Oh and the hotel didn't give us anything not even a rental car or an extra night.
The hotel manager Mr. Najera, didn't appear until a few days after this incident saying that since the taxi driver was going to pay for the damage they could't do anything. I think that if this incident happend in there facilities and under there care, then they should be held partly responsable. Now I will submit my complaint to PROFECO. I have been 3 weeks without my car.

Mayan Palace is a beautiful escape from the business of Cancun (downtown). This lovely resort sits on a gorgeous beach about 20 minutes south of the Cancun airport and is surrounded by lush green jungle. The resort itself is large, but not to worry, golf cart style trams are available to take you all around the complex. The reception area is gorgeous with a very competent and helpful staff. Everyone speaks English which is very helpful for the non Spanish Speakers. The rooms are well appointed and spacious with all the amenities including kitchenettes, living areas and dining rooms. The pool is the highlight of this resort. It is touted as the largest pool in Latin America. It is! It's huge, actually it is several large pools and spill into each other and end at the beach with the last pool being the Carribean. Truly an amazing site. The five restaurants offers variety and great food from beach fare to fine Italian dining. The poolside buffets are not to be missed and include meats, seafood, and local favorites. The Mayan Palace is conveniently located in between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen which may day trips to either locale very easy. Cozumel is a quick bus ride and ferry away. It is also close to Tulum, Coba, Xcaret, as well as Xel-Ha. Great for couples or families as it is spacious and built for relaxation.

We were treated like Queens and Kings. Food, drinks and services were x-cellent and staff was very helpful on our first trip to Mexico. The rooms were very clean. Pools were clean as were the grounds and all buildings.

MAYAN PALACE, CANCUN !!! BEAUTIFULL PLACE THE ROOMS VERY NICE AND CLEAN THE STAFF HELPFULL AT ALL TIMES , THE RESTAURANTS HAVE VERY GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE .AT THE PLAYA RESTAURANT THEY HAVE LIVE MUSIC EVERYNIGHT YOU COULD GO EAT , DRINK AND DANCE FOR A WHILE . I WOULD DEFINETLY GO BACK ANY TIME ....

This was the best vacation ever. The pool is huge. This is a great placeto go with your whole family. Every one will have fun. Make shore you go to sea life park and swim with the dolfins.

Everything was wonderful about the Mayan Palace. It was a short drive from the airport. It was right in the Marina so we could watch Yachts come and go all day. The food was to die for. The people were super friendly. A short Bus ride gets you downtown to the Markets and additional Nightlife. 10 Star in a 5 Star Rating.

We stayed here the first 5 nights on our honeymoon. The time share people were very bad wouldn't take NO for an answer. So that wasted alot of our time. The location was very bad. It's so far away from everything, there is a bus but it takes a while to get into town. We rented a car a few days and that helped, we just felt so far out and away from everything. The room was ok, not great it had 2 beds kinda small with a view of a golf course. The pool area was very nice and there is a restuarant on the beach that was nice. There is a night club but is was dead. The patio was nice there was a piano and we could sit and have drinks and watch the sunset. If you are looking for a place to go and be away from it all and rest and relax this place may be it for you. If you want to do things and be in the middle of town and have fun and be a tourist stay some where else. We stayed our last night in town and wished we had been there the whole time..

We had two rooms at the Mayan Palace, Nuevo Vallarta. Upon arrival one room was unavailable so we were upgraded to the Grande Mayan. This is by far the most outrageous hotel I have ever seen. The entrance is like a ride at Disney World. The rooms are large and luxurious. I have never seen so many people cleaning in my life. There are infinity pools on the balconies!!! The pool deck is like a water park with wave pools, tiki bars, a lazy river and water slides. The food and alcohol is typical American resort ($$$) and the cities are some distance (15-25 minute car ride). Bring taxi money ($16 to Puerto Vallarta one-way, $11 to La Buscarias one-way). This is a wonderful place to stay for a luxurious vacation but you might want to stay in Puerto Vallarta to experience actual Mexico. Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful place!!

My wife and I stayed at The Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta for a week in August 2006. We were given a room that resembles very much a cheap motel�s room. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, we were told that (although they had plenty of vacant rooms) because we are RCI members, they couldn�t give us a better room. The guests next to us were very noisy with kids playing in the hallway 10 P.M. Doors had no seals so it felt like they were in the room with us, The pool area has blasting annoying music all the time. You cannot find a quiet place to relax. The adult�s pool had more children than adults. When we brought it to the attendant�s attention, he looked at us as if we were crazy to expect the adult�s pool to have adults only. The worst experience was when we attended a sales pitch for Timeshare. When the salesperson realized that we would not buy, he became extremely rude. I could not believe that I could be insulted because I was not convinced to buy!!! As a whole, it was a very bad experience. Never again.

at first i thought its a nice place to relax but the staff are too pushy about timeshare presentation. "JASON", one of the timeshare agent was very rude when we told him we're not interested. We were told that we wasted his time when in fact he was the one who ruined our entire vacation. We will definitely never come back! We wil find another all inclusive resort where there is really a peace of mind and true relaxation.
