Great Holiday

The Sofitel Karrnak is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. The staff are all extremely friendly and would do anything for you. The rooms are clean and spacious, you even recieve a chocolate on your pillow every night.
The food is delicious and has something for eveyone. Each night there is a different theme from around the world, but it still caters for vegetarians and dieters. The assistant chef here, Ahmed, is also brilliant. When suffering from mild heat stroke, he went out of his way to make us the food we felt we could eat.
The pool is huge, there are plenty of sun loungers and it never feels crowded. The bar is also in the pool, so you can sit on mosaic stools in the water, whilst enjoying your drink and snack. The food and drinks here are also very reasonably priced, around 4.50 for a burger, chips and soft drink.
Although the hotel is a little further out compared to the other hotels, this worked as a benefit. Instead of being surround by dust, noise and street vendors, you are surrounded by the beautiful gardens that contain huge palm trees and that overlook the nile. The hotel also has free minibus and boat services into the city centre on a half hour basis. Although there are main collection points, the staff are so friendly, they will ask where you need collecting or dropping off. The service is also very prompt and we were never left waiting to be picked up.
I would definately go back to the Sofitel. We visited the other main hotels whilst out there and found them to be less tranquil, with more ware and tear: they were definately not up to the standard of the Sofitel Karnak. Even the holiday reps can be found around the pool on their days off!
Everyone should go to Luxor to see the vast amount of history and when there should stay at the Sofitel Karnak!
