Not Impressed

We traded our Hilton timeshare points this year to stay at the Windham in Vegas. Although the location was good, and it was nice to have a family-oriented resort away from the strip we were not impressed with many things here compared to the Hilton resorts we usually stay in:
- There are two pools, one for families with kids and one adults only. We had to stay at the kid pool but it is only 4 feet deep and very hot. This pool only gets sun early in the day, so if you go out and do things and come back to swim, you can't sunbathe at all.
- The rooms in our suite were small and the furniture is very uncomfortable. Not to mention that there are only black out drapes on the windows. So you either have to be blinded by the sun, or feel like you are in a cave.
- Overall, the hotel seemed dated and weather-worn. Our bedspread was very old, ripped with stains on it. The walls and carpet were marked and beaten up.
- There are no on-site restaurants, just a deli in one of the buildings.
My husband and I tried to order drinks by the pool a few times, and sometimes the bar was closed. We found out late in the week that they only have one liquor license. So if the bar inside the hotel is opened, they have to close the bar by the pool, and vice versa. Can't they spring for two licenses to accomodate the guests?
- You have to use your hotel key to go up and down in the elevator which is very, very inconvenient. Guests were complaining about it all week because we all had incidences when you forgot your key or left it with other family members, etc.
In any event, we did have a nice vacation but will not be visiting this hotel again.
