NASTY DISGUSTING AND HORRIBLE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/08
THE PLACE WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!! I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS PLACE. I DON'T GIVE THIS PLACE ANY STARS. EVEN THOUGH THE PRICE MAY BE RESONABLE IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO STAY IN A DUMP LIKE THAT. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE KNOCKED DOWN AND REMODELED. THIS PLACE MAKES MY SKIN CRAWL.

Horrible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/02/08
Me, my husband, and our 1 year old son were on our way back from Disney World. We love Savannah and thought we'd stay one night on our way back through. There was a festival that weekend and this was one of the only hotels downtown that had a vacancy. We should have realized there was a reason why! It was disgusting! I didn't want to let my son crawl around on the floor. The bathroom was dirty, I don't think it had been cleaned since the last person stayed. Hair and grit everywhere. Everything was worn. Cigarette holes in the sheets and comforter. There was a liquid brown stain on our comforter! The TV, clock, and lamps didn't work! We were there about 30 minutes, realized how disgusting it was and went back to the front desk and asked for our money back. They didn't even try to offer us a cleaner room! They just said ok. I would NEVER stay there again!

You can't beat it for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/08
The price is extremely reasonable. True, it's not the best hotel that you're ever going to stay in, but chances are when you're in Savannah, you're not going to spend much time in your hotel room anyway. Definitely in a really convenient location and the lowest prices you're going to find withing walking distance of the historic district.

filthy room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/07
It was late and we needed a place to stay. There were crumbs laying up next to the bed, mosquitoes and dirt on the walls - a filthy old chair only fit for the trash can. When daylight came, you could see the dirt everywhere. We were charged an amount that was out of line for that room. That place is a real dump!

VERY OVER PRICED
By ANGELA, 05/01/07
THE PRICE THEY CHARGE FOR THIS DUMP IS CRAZY. THE DOOR TO MY ROOM HAD A GAP IN IT YOU COULD SEE THROUGH, THERE WAS PLUMBERS TAPE HANGING FROM THE SHOWER HEAD, NO CLOCK INT HE ROOM, THE FLOORS WERE NASTY, THERE WAS HAIR ON THE WALLS AND SHOWER CURTAIN IN THE BATHROOM. THIS IS A POOR EXCUSE FOR A RENOVATED HOTEL. I HAVE STAYED IN CAMPGROUNDS IN A TENT THAT WAS CLEANER THAN THIS PLACE.

I'd rather sleep in my car
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/07
Room had a terrible odor. We had to keep the air conditioner on all night and it was 25 degrees outside. Room cost was outrageous considering I have a bathroom bigger at home. No decaf coffee in room. Only one wastepaper basket in whole room and that was in the bathroom. Hotel next to bus station so bums hung around hotel parking lot. Charge of $8.00 for parking was ridiculous since it was a Saturday. Guests should not have to pay $8.00 to park. We needed a room and we took it but next time I'll sleep in my car instead.

dont do it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/06
The worst part of the experience was the service. My boyfriend and I booked this room b/c it was the most reasonable of all the places to stay in the historic district. The people that work/own this hotel are extremely rude. They were rude at check-in, even rolling their eyes at us. When we were leaving, the three people who were cleaning the room that day were staring in the room at us when we were in and out of our room when we were packing our car. They were glaring at us from outside and one lady even beat on the door when I was looking at her and walked away, even though she saw me looking at her. Needless to say, this was the worst experience I have ever had. The rude staff, bad conditions of place, and the area is not safe. We had a homeless man harassing us to buy drugs outside our room on the 2nd floor. There is even a sign on the fence outside the hotel from the Savannah Architecural Board that says tha place either needs serious renevations or needs to be demolished. That should tell you something. I hope they demolish the place and then the people will have something to be angry about! BAD PLACE!

Perfect visit May '06

Clean, quiet, right in the historic district, free breakfast, gov't rate is $70, very comfortable & convenient. Pleasant staff. Short walk to River St. & Broughton St. Good service.

Best value in downtown Savannah
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/06
Don't be fooled. This is an ECONO lodge. If you go expecting a 4 star hotel you will be dissapointed, but if you, like I did, stay here with the intention of having a really cheap place to sleep that's in walking distance to all of downtown Savannah, then you will be quite satisfied! Rooms were well air conditioned, although the window units are a bit noisy. The room was always sparkling and clean when we returned in the afternoon. The continental breakfast was sparse but fresh, and best of all FREE! Overall I was quite proud of myself for making such a travel-savy decision to stay in this hotel.

parking charge
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/16/06
I was charged $8.00 a day to park in their lot. I have called other Econo Lodges and the parking is free. The bathroom was moldy and dirty, the breakfast?? was stale and inedible. The sheets were stained and the blanket had holes in it. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. I booked through Hotels.com and they did not have my reservation. It was a good thing I printed my reservation before I left home. I will try to get a refund for the parking charge.
