Mattress and Pillows suck
By Akilah, 09/10/09
Ok so I live in Detroit so the location doesn't matter to me except that this particular Hilton located in Downtown Detroit felt basically put together for the super bowl. But let me just get to the part about the cheap mattress and suck granny feather pillows. I had a horrible night trying to sleep. So the only thing I would suggest is bring your own pillows and a lumbar if you have back problems. Also pay close attention to the 20.00 valet parking.

We will be back.
By Nicholas, 05/16/09
I went there for a Tiger's game and the Greek town casino just last week. Had no idea downtown Detroit was such a fun place. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. We just walked everywhere. It was clean and the beds were soft and comfortable. However, there are a few things they could improve. The pool was very small and the panhandlers around here, and a few blocks away, are pretty aggressive. Also they charge you 20 or 25 dollars just to park, but they seem to always have staff watching your car. I would recommend using them.

Perfect for Sporting Events
By Alan, 08/26/07
This hotel was perfect for attending either a Tigers or Lions game. With just a short 2 block walk to Ford Field or Comerica Park, it was excellent. The staff was more that we could of asked for in a hotel, from the time we parked the car till we checked out two days later, every one from the front desk, the bar and restaurant staff were great. As for the location, it was great after sitting in Comerica Park during a grueling 90 degree day game to just have a very short walk back to our hotel and just relax over some cold adult beverages and some great conversation in a friendly setting. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Thank You for adding to a great getaway weekend for me and my family.

Great Location for Events
By Robbin, 09/07/06
The location was great for Comerica Park, Ford Field, Greek Town. All within walking distance. The valet parking did add 20. per night (plus the tipping, of course) to the bill, but if any event is going on in downtown Detroit, you are going to have to pay well for parking. The staff was efficient and very pleasant. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but not very impressive in food or service. There is no place near by to eat breakfast that we could find, in fact restaurants in the immediate surrounding area are very few. The room was average, in design and features, but it was immaculate. The coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge are handy. There are no snack vending machines along side the pop and ice machine, so if you want to have a snack handy, bring something with you. The cost, of 149. and 159. per night did seem a bit much for what the hotel offers, other than being very clean and conveniently located. I would stay there again for the ease of getting to sporting events. No traffic or parking headaches, no muss, no fuss.

Great place-
By frederick, 08/21/06
Two of us went to Detroit to see the Mighty Tigers- We came from London Ont and the convenient location of the hotel to USA/Canada tunnel is a big plus- This hotel could not be located any better for the ball fan- From the moment we checked in until we left it was a first class experience- Not one complaint about the staff- They were all first class and friendly- The bar staff were the greatest- Stop in for a drink and meet Big Mike- A great bartender- We are planning on making this an annual event- We will definitely be back-

A Hotel Doesn't need Business
By Spyder, 06/05/06
I have stayed at the hotel once for my birthday. But the materials and service there, were not up to my standards. I wished they could have had more options of rooms and of certain selections. My parents bought the whole package and we were still unsatisfied.

The Hunter House
By Madeline, 02/24/06
The Hunter House located inside the Hilton Garden Inn on Jefferson is a great place to grab an afterwork cocktail, entertain business clients, or grab a quick lunch! The ambience is great .. it's a relaitively small establishment, with a "blue" vibe, you can sit at the bar and catch a game on the several televisions offered, or opt to sit at a table and enjoy some of their wonderful food! I have to warn you ... their menu is limited however what the do offer is great! Good place to visit if you are a hotel guest or just stopping through!

Hilton
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/06
Very nice hotel. It's near everything downtown. The Greek Town Casino is just blocks away along with the Fox Theater, Comerica Park, Ford Field, Hockey Town and more! It was a little pricey but thats what you should expect when staying in an hotel downtown. Security was great in and around the hotel. I would stay here again.
